My first CAS cruise complete, what may happen in the future?

Recommended Posts

We just enjoyed our first CAS cruise on the Escape, which I received from an invitation to pick up a certificate from our local casino. Now that we sailed, does CAS send promotions and possible invites directly to us? Or do we wait for another possible invite from a casino? Do we call CAS to ask if anything is available?

We are new to this route, so any information would be helpful- thank you!

Since your local casino gave you the NCL certificate, I gather you gamble enough to have rated play and get offers.

I learned that NCL does NOT start making offers to you until you've sailed with them three times, most likely so they can get a better average of your play. At least that's what I was told when I called.

However, if you did play a good amount on your first cruise, you can call and ask them about what's available to you.

If you played enough on the ship I am not sure when "enough" starts but I had 5000 points on my first cruise and it was enough to comp the next two cruises by calling in they did not send me offers until sometime this year... I have no idea when as they get sent to my permanent address in America and I teach overseas.

Once you have established a play history with CAS, you can call them anytime and ask about a cruise and see what they'll offer you. You do not have to wait for offers or other certificates.

However, comp offers can vary not only depending on your play on your last cruise, but also with the ship and the itinerary. More popular ships and more popular itineraries will usually mean less of a comp offer.

Since you gambled on the ship, you are probably rated. Next time you want to cruise anywhere, call CAS and ask what the will you offer. Anything short of a feee room, it may be better to get another land certificate.

Do not wait for offers. Pick a cruise and see what the have to offer.

Do not wait for them to contact you. We first cruised with CAS using our certificates from Caesars and were cruising twice a year on them. From what I understand, CAS is not supposed to 'poach' CETs players so it is to your benefit to call CAS and inquire about future cruises yourself.

To get an idea of what you are eligible for just call them and let them know what cruise & date you are interested in. Be prepared to give them both of your Latitudes numbers so they can look up your play. Wait a few days after your last cruise so they have access to that data.

As to poaching. The parent company of Caesars has a 49 percent interest in NCL which is the reason for the heavy cross Marketting between entities.

Yes, they do have a connection which they use to cross market. It's probably due to that connection that I've been told they are not supposed to strongly recruit the others customers. However, if we ask about getting comped cruises they can go ahead and make offers.

I'm glad I didn't wait to get an offer directly from CAS. Before, I went to Las Vegas to pick up a cruise voucher spending $$$ in LV. Now I use less $$$ on the cruise and still get a great follow-up cruise offer.

I never get offers from CAS, but you call directly and they will offer you for whatever you want based on previous play.... if your play isn’t strong enough for what you want they’ll tell you how much they can discount. CAS direct gives me far better than the local or vegas casino offers. I did also start that same way

Thank you all for your replies. This information has helped a lot. My husband played as well, and I read something that sometimes they look at both accounts combined, which if true would make sense.

If you're both CAS rated players, and you're cruising (and thus gambling) together, then make sure to tell them that. While I don't know for sure that it will help, it certainly couldn't hurt, as they will know what they can expect from both of you playing.

There's no poaching involved. NCL and CET are both owned by the same holding company and there are marketing agreements in place between them.

What I'd really like would be if NCL CAS play counted towards your CET status, and v.v. Oh well.

Yes, it will help. I usually sail with my hubby. Took my daughter on a cruise for her birthday and was comped an ocean view based on my previous play. Was told if I had been sailing with hubby we would have rated a balcony together.

I just know what I was told by a CAS agent a couple of years ago. I'm SevenStar with CET and that was why they hadn't directly sent me a CAS offer until I pursued it.

I also know that recently when I was on a special SevenStar sponsored cruise the CAS hosts did not approach me as they had on my CAS cruises even though I had earned over 10,000 points on that cruise. We were being escorted by a CET Host and everything including VIP disembarkation went through the CET Host who had arranged it with the Exec Host on board. (I did get my usual Sapphire status on-board comps.)
