My wife and I booked our first cruise in April of last year and leaves in six days, the Elation out of Jacksonville for a five day Eastern Caribbean cruise. We booked an Ocean View and even if a balcony was available we would have stuck with an OV for cost reasons. However, after the dry dock last August our room was converted to a balcony. We were ecstatic with that turn of events. Then this evening got an email we had been moved up to a Jr. Suite. Not concerned about the top deck as we have it booked next year with a Scenic OV room. We are excited but feel we are going to be spoiled with such a nice room on our first cruise. We have three others already booked, all OV.

We bumped up to jr suite #V25 last month on the elation from an OV. It was a nice room and decor but a small balcony and obstructed view. We had not been on a fantasy class in 15 years and thought the ship was in nice condition after the recent dry dock.

You can go back - it may not be easy but it can be done.

Our first 3 cruises were all balcony and all 7 day. We decided to try a 5 day and balconies are few so we did an OV. We lived

through it! Then we booked several more 5 days in an OV. We have still thrown in a couple of balconies along the way including our 8 day Southern next February (our first aft view balcony and I'm soooo excited and we turn Platinum). The only cabin we've never booked is an interior.

Oh and just my 2 cents - but I'm thinking you should play the lottery and soon! Sounds like lady luck is on your side lately.

Have fun!
