Pinnacle Suite Beverage & Perk Question

To Past Pinnacle Suite Cruisers - I have tried searching for the answer, but can't seem to find this out: What are the beverage perks, if any, that come with the Pinnacle Suite? Do they stock the refrigerator with free items, or is it like a mini bar? We each have the Signature Beverage Package, and plan on upgrading to the Elite once on board. Any insight or great tips for this suite would be very helpful. We sail to Alaska on the Nieuw Amsterdam in September. First time to Alaska! Thanks!!

Always stay in Neptune and Pinnacle Suites. Other than a bottle of sparkling wine in the cabin when you board, there is no beverage benefit in either level suite, that I am aware of.

A recent perk on very long cruises is a "set up (4 bottles)" in the suites. Haven't looked into what that is defined as.

The PS cabin gets a better bottle of sparkling wine than the Neptune Suites.

The longest we have done in the PS is 28 days -- no bottles of alcohol.

You will find that the refrigerator is stocked with many more mini bottles than what is provided in the Neptune Suites -- but you do have to pay for them.

In a PS a couple of weeks ago on Rotterdam. We were told by the Concierge that the soft drinks in the fridge were complimentary but not the alcohol.

That’s good to know. I only drink wine but DH drinks mixed drinks. I’m thinking we will get a bottle of liquor that he can mix with the soft drinks. Thanks!

Please discuss with Concierge as that might be ship particular policy.

BTW, we checked in early and were directed to wait in the suites area. There were probably 20 or so waiting there. After awhile, a person walked up and asked for us by name. She then said: "Mr & Mrs RM, if you'll accompany me, I'll escort you aboard." We were the first aboard.

What time did you arrive? What time should we arrive? We want to enjoy every moment!

That's what my wife thought. We were very lucky to be in the PS. We had originally booked an SB about a year ago for about $2500PP. After a couple of price drops and our TA's discount, we were paying about $1700. We declined an $1750 up sell and then we accepted a $750 up sell. It was certainly worth it.

I don't want to mislead you since we were on Rotterdam out of Tampa. I see you're going to Alaska so it maybe quite different there. We arrived around 1100 as I remember. We boarded around 1130.

Another thing. This too might be peculiar to Tampa, but when we got to the check in counter, the lady took one look at our boarding documentation and said she did not have our cards and asked us to follow her to the end of the counter. There was another woman who checked us in. I think that PS suite check in might be handled a bit differently too. This was the woman who escorted us to the ship. She handed us over to a concierge who escorted us to our suite.

Ok thanks. We will be sure to show our boarding docs. If you have any other tips, please share. We have not sailed HAL in many years. Trying her again sans the kids!

We ordered room service one night from the Pinnacle Grill. (Look on the room service menu. You can get your choice of two steaks or lobster for about $15PP). The server brought a table cloth and very precisely set the table for our dinner. Very nice. The other nights we either dinned in the PG or went to the Lido.

There were complete dinner setting, plates and silver ware like those in the PG, in the cabinet. Also, complete sets of waterford crystal.

Here's a small tidbit to demonstrate the quality of the service we received. I'm a big guy, XXXL. I always bring my own robe since I find those on board a bit snug. The steward must have noticed my robe because the next day, a XXXL Holland robe appeared in my cabin.

In Seattle, we had the same service as in any other port for check in and getting on the ship.

We arrived around 10:30, went through security, checked in and were escorted to a special area where we sat until a lady came to take us onto the ship. Once we scanned out cards on the ship, one of the concierges was there to meet us and take us up to our cabin.

Great, thanks. I was thinking about a 10:30 arrival.

This brought to mind cruising HAL +/- 25 years ago, when boarding we had stewards escort us to our staterooms. - lowly inside ones at that. Remember those crew members with the little yellow caps on their heads?
