Cruise_Couple Posted March 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2018 I am wondering why there is such a delay between when a cruise becomes available to book and when you can reserve items on the cruise planner. It seems like standard items like beverage packages, internet packages, etc. should be available at the same time a cruise is published. Does anyone know of a legitimate reason why they wait so long to release these packages for booking on Cruise Planner? It shouldn't be because of potential price changes because they change package prices constantly. I am not complaining... I really just can't think of a reason why they can't release it all at once so you can book a cruise and all the "extras" and be done with it. (I get the shore excursions delay as they are dealing with third party vendors)
Clarea Posted March 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2018 It seems like they release reservations in batches, so a bunch of sailings of different dates are released together. The cruise line has not publicly revealed the "logic" behind this process.
Rare BirdTravels Posted March 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Things continually change. Keeping track of a sliding window or 90 days terms and conditions is easier to administer than multiple years. Both for prebooking and the crew on the ship. Rare BirdTravels Posted March 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2018 OK,,,, prices also jump dramatically each year. Why let you drink for 2015 prices when they can get 2018 prices from you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
