I disagree on the lighting.. I have sailed on this class several times . I think the lighting is good. As always it all depends on ones tastes. We all view the world differently.

My belief in the Ensemble lounge is that it is designed as the late night chill out spot and for those awaiting their booking for a specialty restaurant. The entertainment there is generally the Jazz band or the classical musicians or even the solo guitarist and that generally is later in the evening after dinner. It has a similar embiance of al bacio.

 

Ensemble lounge should be dark always,,,,i.e. Jazz, Frank S, .and Great Mood Cocktails.

 

Get Over IT.....this is Not Al Bacio. The Setting Works and is Not Even Close.

 

An S Class ship is NOT Suppose To BE,,,,the Good Ship Disney LoLLYPop !!!!!

I still find the s- ships more light , open and airy than the Holland America ships which are dark and have dark decor.

Ensemble Lounge is our favourite place for before dinner drinks...love the quiet Jazz and Strings....many agree as it's always hard to find a place to sit! So many nice bars with the ambient lighting which suit that location...IMHO.

Have you sailed on Reflection? She’s a totally different beast to the other S class ships - an extra deck of cabins being the main difference, and you can certainly tell there are all those extra bodies (obviously IMHO).
