Clean Affordable Hotel Near Miami Airport

We are arriving the night before our cruise in the evening (flight gets in 7:30pm). Thus, we just need a place to sleep and shower in the morning. For the convenience, we'd like a place that offers breakfast. Since it's just overnight, we don't want to spend a lot.

From Expedia, ones that pop up are Doral Inn, Best Western Plus Miami Airport, Comfort Suites Miami airport north, La Quinta Inn & Suites Miami Airport East, others?

Any recommendations between them, or others? Also, is there a liquor store nearby any of those?

What's your definition of affordable, and when do you cruise? Prices vary with the tourist season - the $300 room in Feb can go for under $100 in August.

Of those listed, the La Quinta East is most often suggested on this board by cruisers. Very isolated, with no nearby shopping/dining options. If you are okay with delivery pizza or Chinese it should fit your bill.

Yes true..i see what you mean asking our cost. I guess up to $200 USD if possible.

Anything you recommend? We don't need to pay extra for a fancy pool or location (aside from being somewhere between the airport and Miami port). And since our flight doesn't even land until 7:30pm and we're coming with kids, we'll probably bring some non-perishable dinner on the plane with us so surrounding restaurants aren't necessary. Only thing that would be nice is somewhere we can pick up a bottle of wine to take on the cruise with us.

Look at hotels in the Blue Lagoon area near MIA (Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, etc.) with a local strip mall nearby with grocery, drug and liquor stores, plus fast food and dining options just in case. Mini-van or SUV taxi will get 4-5 plus bags to the port for $30+ -- let the hotel desk call the cab for you, they know who is responsible & reliable.

Thank you! I'm looking at the Hampton Inn & Suites South Blue Lagoon and price is in our range and gets good ratings. Looks like the Walgreens, CVS and Publix are walkable too. Perfect.

The Homewood Suites is on the other side and further from the shops listed only lists 1 king bed (vs 2 Queen). Big help. thanks.

We just booked the Hampton South/Blue Lagoon for our early June cruise. Good price, free shuttle running every 30 min to-from the airport & hotel, PLUS...shuttle service to the port (small fee) the next day, and restaurants within walking distance. Hope this is as good as it sounds.

Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon is very popular with cruisers flying in late who just want a clean room in a safe location. If you use the search function (upper right side of this board) or check Trip-Advisor you should find many reviews/comments.

Great to hear about the breakfast. We ended up booking Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon (but it's refundable incase we decide on something else). Anyone know the the best spot to pick up a couple bottles of wine between the Walgreens, CVS and Publix? DH will probably run out the night we land. (We're Canadian and so are not as familiar with those stores)

We've stayed at the nearby Homewood Suites Blue Lagoon when flying in late to MIA - shuttle wait was about 10+ minutes (catch it on the departures level for some reason). They did offer a shared shuttle to POM for about $12 per person -- we've always chosen to use either taxi or Uber.
