Roadhawg Posted December 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2005 We're sailing on the Constellation on Feb. 4 and it looks like the Patriots have another shot of being in the Super Bowl. Any chance the ship airs the game? I've already warned my husband that they may not.
BSeaBob Posted December 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2005 We were aboard for the Super Bowl when it was played in San Diego a few yrs back. The had the game on big screens in the big topside lounge with football snacks and of course...the bar was open. That being said it depnds on where the ship you are on may be for satelite reception. We were at sea.
Roadhawg Posted December 29, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted December 29, 2005 Thank you for such a prompt response. I'd like to be able to give him a little hope. This is his first cruise and I'd like to make a good impression on him! He said it was internationally watched so we'll keep our fingers crossed. Rare mahdnc Posted December 29, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2005 Yes, go Steelers. We were on the 02/02/02 Infinity sailing during the Super Bowl. We were expecting the Steelers to be there but instead it was those Patriots (again). Anyway, the ship had a live feed for the Super Bowl playing in the forward observation lounge, theater/conference room, and a couple of TVs in the casino bars. We watched the Super Bowl in the forward observation lounge which had a big screen TV set and some other smaller TVs as well as dinner food. The game was not available thru your stateroom TV. kitty9 Posted December 29, 2005 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2005 The Super Bowl was available on our TV a couple of years ago. It was the year of Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction. It was shown on ESPN International and many of the commercials were in Spanish. I remember having to run back to my cabin, and turned on the TV just to see what was happening, and lo and behold, there was the Super Bowl. It was also shown on the screens in the casino and in the Revelations Lounge. GO STEELERS I want to be in Detroit in February.
Roadhawg Posted December 29, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted December 29, 2005 Thank you folks! My husband was smiling while reading your responses (although he did keep saying "go for the three-peat). He said he's not surprised that we should be able to see it but I feel a lot better since I'm the one who picked the sailing date and booked the cruise. Personally, I don't care who's in it as long as I have a fruity rum drink in my hand :)
Smooth Sailing Posted December 29, 2005 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2005 Go Patriot's - 3 in a row - 4 out of 5 - GO We were on the NCL Crown going around Cape Horn (South America) at Playoff and Super Bowl time last year - we got all the games in the sport's bar - Live and in living color. :D:D:D

Nitemare Posted December 30, 2005 #10 Share Posted December 30, 2005 According to the info I saw at my local ABC affiliate, it is going to be the Patriots again this year. And it depends where the ship is located, if it can get a satellite signal, they will probably show it. :)
MopedMama Posted December 30, 2005 #11 Share Posted December 30, 2005 We were on Splendour for the Superbowl a few years back. They had it on satellite in one of the big lounges (not on cabin TVs). It was funny, the commercials were not the usual high-dollar USA ones, they were South American. We lost satellite feed a few minutes before it ended. You could have heard the cussing and Oh NO!!s for several hundred nautical miles... I'm sure they will try very hard to show it for as long as possible. Good luck! Roadhawg Posted December 30, 2005 Author #12 Share Posted December 30, 2005 We'll be leaving St. Maarten the evening the Super Bowl is on so hopefully we'll get the game. I'm just glad I can stop hoping the Patriots lose (unlike all these Steelers fans in here!!). As far as losing the satellite feed right before the end of the game, well, that could just be ugly. chessbriar Posted December 30, 2005 #13 Share Posted December 30, 2005 Still a long road ahead for both teams. I hope we miss you in the first round and see you for the AFC title game.. Why break tradition?
jkfrank Posted December 30, 2005 #14 Share Posted December 30, 2005 Still a long road ahead for both teams. I hope we miss you in the first round and see you for the AFC title game.. Why break tradition? Rick, long time no hear. Maybe a small wager again if both teams make the playoffs as I fully expect? How's everything going? Baby is close? Hope you and Kathy have a Happy new year. We booked on Conny for 11/20/2005. Couldn't swayed the others for the NJ sailing.
chessbriar Posted January 1, 2006 #15 Share Posted January 1, 2006 John, Sorry, you couldn't make the 10/27 sailing from NJ. You'll have a great time. E-mail me and I send you a few pictures from the cruise. cpcrickp@aol.com Things are going well, finishing up the baby's room this weekend. Went with and underwater theme. I hope she's not afraid of fish and water. Oh well, It's one of the few times our wishes come before the baby's wishes. Down to 7 weeks or less. So much to do, so little time. We can talk more about wager when the matchups come out. I'd love to meet up with the Patsys again. If we get you in the first round and pull the upset, I can see us in the Super Bowl. If we face you in the AFC championships game, I see the Pats going back. Let's hope we have something to chat about.
smdin Posted January 1, 2006 #16 Share Posted January 1, 2006 We were in the Consellation last year for the Super bowl. There was a large screen on the pool deck and also playing in the casino. We will be sailing with you this year. Go BEARS!!!
smdubowsky Posted January 3, 2006 #17 Share Posted January 3, 2006 Having been on the Constellation the last three winters, you can presume the game will be available, but don't presume who will be in the game.
