travelgoddess1 Posted April 16, 2018 #252 Share Posted April 16, 2018 We bought a picture for $25 and I know just the frame would have cost more in the states. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S8 using Tapatalk You will be bringing back quite a treasure and memento of your trip. Beautiful and amazing artwork! :) In your opinion, how does Vietnamese food differ from other South Asian food? Is it mainly the spices they use? (Sorry if that's a dumb question.) Along with the picture Marie also bought 6 of the mats. For me Vietnamese food tends to have less spice but more vegetables which works for me is a good thing. Hoping to have five some pho in the next port Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S8 using Tapatalk

Rare JamesEM Posted April 17, 2018 #259 Share Posted April 17, 2018 Thanks for the photos, were there are any monuments/reminders of the war?
PCWalton1 Posted April 17, 2018 Author #260 Share Posted April 17, 2018 Thanks for the photos, were there are any monuments/reminders of the war? I was anticipating seeing some on Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) if we had gone but we did not see any here. There may have been some but that was not on our itinerary,
anandaindonesia Posted April 17, 2018 #261 Share Posted April 17, 2018 Thanks for the photos, were there are any monuments/reminders of the war?You will need at least half a day to visit Cu Chi Tunnel from Saigon. This actual war memento is very touching experience. Sent from my SM-J730G using Tapatalk
PCWalton1 Posted April 17, 2018 Author #262 Share Posted April 17, 2018 We went to the Top Tier event at 4:45 which was the first session of two since there were so many return cruisers. Disappointing was at our session they did not bother to announce who the top cruiser was. Oh well. PCWalton1 Posted April 17, 2018 Author #263 Share Posted April 17, 2018 I finally remembered to take a picture of the menus. Marie enjoyed the crab cake, fish then her usual vanilla ice cream. I had the seafood veloute, lamb loin then the chocolate and olive cake. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S8 using Tapatalk

PCWalton1 Posted April 18, 2018 Author #268 Share Posted April 18, 2018 Hello to those still with us. Or is Wednesday April 18th and we are in the port of Chan May, Vietnam near Danang. We took a tour today with David Nguyen of Vietnam Tours. First we headed up over Hai An Pass on our way to the city of Danang. First we passed some oyster bed, these are the eating type not the ones with pearls. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S8 using Tapatalk
PCWalton1 Posted April 18, 2018 Author #269 Share Posted April 18, 2018 We made a quick stop for some Vietnamese coffee. We were shown why we saw so many tires on the shore. The oysters grow on them Before starting up the pass were stopped for a train headed to Hanoi Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S8 using Tapatalk

PCWalton1 Posted April 18, 2018 Author #275 Share Posted April 18, 2018 Next stop China Beach. The was a popular R&R stop for service men and women during the Vietnam War. I could see why, it is a great looking beach. We then began heading to Marble Mountain. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S8 using Tapatalk
