Caravancruisers Posted April 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2018 August cruise. Fun things for children to see/do?
gumby_ng Posted April 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2018 Haven't been but I've also been looking at options for kids, mine are 12 and 10. There are museums focused on Leonardo Da Vinci which include some of his "invention" work and it sounds like it more hands-on. Glass factory demo? Vaporetto ride? GOLDENBONNY Posted April 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2018 We did not planned anything special for kids but our 9 years old really loved Doge's Palace Secret Itineraries Tour Gondola ride was a blast. We had no time but I am sure she would love Burano and Murano . Just keep in mind that its boiling hot in August and lots of people.

Grandma Cruising Posted April 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2018 Using the water buses and taking a traghetto across the Grand Canal https://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/traghetto.htm Sent from my iPad using Forums
Jimjamz Posted April 27, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 27, 2018 Ours, 6 + 9, enjoyed the glass blowing demo's on Murano. Also the vaporratto (bought all day passes so could jump on and off). Watching the boats on the water. Venice is very crowded mid summer.
Caravancruisers Posted April 27, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted April 27, 2018 Thanks for advice. Hmm..not really going to sight see with them...due to heat and crowds we think. However, the vaporratto sound fun, and cooling!
roothy123 Posted June 16, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 16, 2018 Agree that just taking a vaporettto (water bus) around is fun, and if it's fun for an adult, it should be for a kid, too! Just make sure you know there's a difference between the white ACTV vaporettos and the yellow Alilaguna boats. They require separate tickets, which you can almost always purchase from a machine near the vaporetto stop. You can be caught and fined if you take one and don't have a ticket for that particular boat line. This pertains particularly if you have purchased a day ticket on one line.
