Rare pasodancer Posted April 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Have friends joining us on the cruise - she has a "partial" dental device in the front of her mouth (flapper). She is concerned that the force of the air on iFly will basically cause her partial to fly out of her mouth. She doesn't want to take in out in advance, she doesn't want to take it out at all on iFly. Anyone know about the "force of the air" 1st hand and whether or not she has reason to worry? bumorgan Posted April 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2018 I would HIGHLY suggest she remove it before entering the chamber. If in doubt ask at the counter when you check in.
euphscott Posted April 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2018 I don't know the forces nor do I know what kind of force would it take to dislodge. But my initial reaction was - keep your mouth closed and all is well! It's a lot of fun and really quite safe - but this is an interesting question that I cannot answer with any certainty. Rare pasodancer Posted April 11, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Thank you all...........will tell her either to keep her mouth closed the entire time or risk having a lost device!
nerak11 Posted April 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 11, 2018 I wouldn't risk it. The wind literally makes your cheeks flap. A smile could end up with it flying out of her mouth.
shopper77 Posted April 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2018 When I was on in January I had to take everything that was not permanently attached off. This included my wedding rings. and I believe that asked if I had any dentures. I suggest leaving anything of value in your cabin. You put your possessions in a little cubbie. And it is opened to the public.
Tee & Chilli Posted April 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 11, 2018 If she has a container, there is a locker to place items in before getting suited up for IFly.

OACEIS Posted April 12, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 12, 2018 I am going to piggyback off this... after watching youtube videos it seems like some of the staff pump up the fan and let you fly around 5-6 feet , while some just let you hover like 2 feet off the ground? Anybody able to describe their experience?

Anybody able to describe their experience? It depends on how good you are at it. If you are stable and in control they will let you up a bit higher but if they are having to help you a lot they hold on to the handles on your suit more and keep you lower. SbbquilterUT Posted April 12, 2018 #12 Share Posted April 12, 2018 DH couldn’t keep his lips closed in there - flapper would be a danger if it came dislodged.
CyberTag Posted April 12, 2018 #13 Share Posted April 12, 2018 They require you to remove everything that is not permanently attached: earrings, necklaces, wedding rings, watches, etc. I wouldn’t risk losing it.
Royal Brat Posted April 12, 2018 #14 Share Posted April 12, 2018 I have done iFly and even if they let you keep it in (I don’t think they will) I would not. It is a lot of fun but if something does come loose the air recirculates and it could come back and hit you. They will explain it all.
