Increase in "Govt Taxes,Fees & Port expenses"?

It appears NCL upped their "Govt Taxes, Fees &Port Expenses". I did a mock booking today of a cruise I'm already booked on and noticed an increase of $52 PP. Anyone know what that's about?

This is normal. Port taxes and fees can go up and down based on contracts they have with the ports and whatever the port feels like charging for that specific week. For my cruise in a few weeks, the port taxes went up by a few dollars per person. For my cruise next year, the port tax did not increase

They've increased on our booking next summer to Bermuda too. About $30 pp.

While NCL could pass those changes on to existing bookings, they normally don't pass them on. Changes in port fees, etc., happen all the time.Sometimes they go up, and NCL eats the cost. Sometimes they go down and you get a refund.

Port fees are a set cost for each individual cruise. So does the cruise line charge each person based on full occupancy or do they charge based on how many people they anticipate booking?

That happened to us once - the port charges went down and we got a small refund.
