carolitis Posted April 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2018 Never made it to a Meet and Mingle event before.Tried to last cruise but had a conflict. Can someone tell me what to expect and how long they last. Traveling with 14 in our family group. Do I need them to register also? Will we know before the cruise when the meet and mingle event is scheduled?

Royal has gotten very bad at notifiying people when and where it is. Recent cruisers have said they had a notice in their room on Day 1, that was the case for my one last year. Register everyone, show up, and mingle!
Clarea Posted April 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2018 You probably won't know the day and time until you get onboard. You should get an invitation in your stateroom.

We usually go to the M&M's on board and enjoy them. Some are more sociable than others, as I believe a lot depends on the staff hosting the event. I enjoyed one where they asked everyone what their screen name was and gave a nice prize to the most original name. Heehee, that may be because I won!!:') It might depend on how large your M&M is to determine how many prizes they give out. For larger groups, sometimes the officers even show up! Time is usually about an hour, give or take a few minutes. They may require that you bring the written invitation which should be in your stateroom when you arrive. Only those registered for the M&M will get an invitation and others might not be allowed into the event; however, your minor children can join you. If you don't receive the invitation, go to Guest Services or the Loyal Ambassador to inquire about it. Hope this helps to answer some of your questions. Continue to post in your roll call for more information! Happy cruising to you and your extended family and friends!! Cheers!! Edited April 26, 2018 by SilkySal spell check
DHADEN Posted April 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2018 I assume you are connected and posting on the RollCall for your cruise. You should register EVERYONE you can (you will need their booking numbers). The more from your RollCall that register, the more effort the ship puts into the Meet & Mingle party (usually). It could last anywhere from a half-hour to 1.5 hours. It seems from my experiences, that once you are over 100 registered, it becomes more important to the ship's crew. We have had the C.D. show up along with other officers; and then there were others where the crew did the minimum and it was up to us (the passengers) to make it what we wanted. The whole event is to get to know everyone from you RollCall and make friends. ;p
