cruiseluvva Posted April 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2018 A bit of a long shot I know, but has anyone had this cabin, or by any chance has any pictures of the view - or lack of it - from the balcony?
david,Mississauga Posted April 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2018 We had that cabin last year. I probably have some pictures or video but I haven't time to search right now. Cunard's Website has - or had - a series of photos of obstructed view cabins. Either they have been removed or it isn't working for me right now, but I found the same list on a private site. Cabin 8058 is not shown but one which is almost identical is: 8068. Number 8058 is one of the better obstructed view cabins we have had. I won't give a link because that site looks like it belongs to a travel agency and that would be a no-no. But a Google search should lead you to it if you can't get it from Cunard's site. Host Hattie Posted April 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2018 The Cunard pictures are still there for those of us in the UK but they show 8056 & 8060 but not 8058 ! https://ask.cunard.com/help/cunard/fleet/qm2_obs
bluemarble Posted April 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2018 Following the recent tradition of copying information from the Cunard UK FAQ for those where that FAQ is no longer accessible, here is a copy of the page from the FAQ for the obstructed views on QM2. Warning: Please note the links for each cabin here may not directly display the image for you. They should trigger a download of the image to your device which may not be automatically directed to an image viewer for you. You may have to go looking for the image in a download folder depending on the specific device, platform, or app you may be using. ==================== Q. cruiseluvva Posted April 27, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted April 27, 2018 Thank you everyone. I had already looked at the pictures but annoyingly, as you know, that particular one is missing. Interesting to read it is almost an identical “view” to 8068, so thank you David. We are on an upgrade list, but at present only these obstructed view cabins and sheltered balcony cabins are available, and neither of us likes the sheltered balconies, so for now..... Thank you. cruiseluvva Posted May 4, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Not what we would have wished for, but what we expected and a very acceptable alternative for the second three weeks.
Rare Germancruiser Posted May 9, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2018 I only can vouche for cabin 8057 - which was quite all right- the obstruction was not to bad - a nice view right in between the life boats. All cabins with similar views are NOT listed in the post with all the Deck 8 balconys- maybe for a reason. LOL!
