EveryNameIsTaken Posted May 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2018 I first want to thank everyone for all of the information provided in this forum. It has been extremely helpful. My question is regarding the amount of time it takes to debark at Grand Cayman. We will be on Liberty of the Seas at the end of this month and have an excursion booked (not through Royal). The schedule shows us arriving at George Town at 10:30 and I believe it takes about 30 minutes for the boat to be cleared by security/customs. We are scheduled to meet our excursion group at 11:45 and from my reading it seems the tender process is extremely slow. Royal prioritizes their excursions 1st. It also looks like you have to get a ticket for the tender starting earlier in the morning. Can anyone elaborate on the tender process and time involved and any tips to help speed up the process. Just concerned on making the excursion meeting time. Thanks,
ONECRUISER Posted May 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2018 You have it about right. Cruisers with excursions threw Royal get off first..
Eslader Posted May 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2018 I'd be nervous about that timeline. You have 45 minutes from the start of tendering to when you need to be there. It took us about that long to get to shore, and we had an excursion booked through Royal. Where you might get lucky is that if you independently booked an excursion that is also offered through Royal, the tour operator might wait for you to get there, but of course that means you'll be the one annoying everyone else on the tour. ;)
dreadpirate3 Posted May 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2018 I think you will be fine. We did the same in December.
