Labadee excursion canceled

Hi everyone,

We found out today that our beach/island excursion in Labadee was canceled. We picked this excursion since it included the opportunity for snorkeling for my husband and beach time for me. We are exploring our options for the day. We are in port from 8-5. Any suggestions? Ideas for beach areas that also have good snorkeling? I am not tied to doing an actual excursion.

The snorkeling in Labadee is barely "so-so"... but you are free to wander about and check out the different beach areas for yourself...it's all easily walkable!

Two years ago we did the Paradise Cove excursion and loved it! Seems it has changed slightly though and has also added the "Haitian Village" experience to it. No snorkeling included at the time but if you rent or bring your own gear you can snorkel on your own. Never have really heard of that area being a great snorkeling spot.

The last time I was there the water was murky and near the swimming boundary I found considerable debris and garbage. I wouldn't bother snorkeling in Labadee. Beach day or maybe do the zip line. Those are the highlight attractions there really.

In my opinion, there is no good snorkeling at Labadee, whether you go out from the beach or you take an excursion. I would tell your husband you are saving him a bunch of wasted time by skipping the snorkeling.

ditto on 'no good snorkeling on labadee" not worth the effort or the money for the excursion

I'll go one further and say snorkeling in Labadee flat out sucks.

If you enjoy sea grass and jagged Coral then go for it.
