Google “Passau to Prague”’and you will get a wide range of options. Only slightly out of the way is Cesky Krumlov; if you do a private car I recommend a stop in that delightful town. In Prague take the funicular up Petrin Hill; the walk back down through the Castle District and on down to Charles Bridge is a wonderful half day outing. ENJOY

To get from Passau to Prague, you have 3 possibilities:

a. Car Transfer, takes abot 3.5 hours, costs €160 (for the car) upwards, depening on the number of passengers. Czech companies are cheaper than German. As the previous poster said a stop in Cesky Krumlov (or as it is known locally here in passau Krumau).

b. Train, change in Linz takes about 7 hours, or via Nuremberg about 5.5 hours, both costs about €70

c. By direct bus (Flixbus) leaves at 14:00, takes 5 hours and costs from €14, haven't check if it is a daily connection.

Take your pick.

We arranged a private car through our hotel in Prague (Aria Hotel), and it was just under $300. We sailed with AmaWaterways, but were not on the post-cruise land program. However, we could have paid extra to join their group transportation to Prague, but we wanted to go direct without any stops in between so we'd have more time in Prague.

We were quoted 6.000 CZK or or 240 EUR for a direct transfer from Passau to Prague (private driver, gas, tolls, etc.). Instead, we opted for the following with a private driving guide:

- 2-hour Passau to Cesky Krumlov transfer- 2-3-hour stop in Cesky Krumlov for sightseeing and lunch

- 2.5-hour Cesky Krumlov to Prague transfer

- 9.000 CZK incl private Mercedes van, driving guide, walking tour in Cesky Krumlov, gas, toll roads, parking

- extras: entrance fees, food and drinks

  • 4 weeks later...

We just arrived at Prague from Passau Racklau dock (Viking cruise), and used Prague Airport Transfers. It cost about $200 total for a minivan (4 of us with luggage), and door-to-door service. They were great!
