Wednesday May 2-Rome

 

They have a small buffet breakfast in Ocean plaza, that is never crowded. I ate there before leaving for Rome and my husband ate there most Port days.

 

 

A few weeks before we were to leave, the tour company said the Vatican was sold out and the only tickets were at 9 and it would take 1 1/2 hours to get to Rome, so our departure time was moved up by half an hour.

Traffic was busy and we were a few minutes late, but there was only 1 voucher for 3 groups, and the other 2 were late so we waited for around 20 minutes.

Because everything was scheduled so tightly, we stopped and picked up paninis and ate in the van.

 

 

We only had 10 minutes at the pantheon, so we didn’t go inside.

Trevi fountain is one of my favorite places in Italy. I threw coins in to return to Rome.

The group was clamoring for gelato, so it was our last stop in Rome.

 

 

Drive back to the ship. Short nap then off to Alchemy.

 

 

Then off to pig and anchor for dinner.

Thursday May 3-Naples

 

One of the places I was most looking forward to seeing was Pompeii. The tour we were going on was Positano, Sorrento, lunch and Pompeii.
