Scuba Divers advice needed to help pick dive sites

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow scuba divers. Our family will taking the Western itinerary on the Allure in March of 2019. We will make stops in Coco Key -Bahamas, Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya. Ideally we'd like to dive at 2 or 3 of the stops. Any advice on tour operators vs. using the tours with RCI? Favorite stops if you could only pick 3 sites? Many thanks.

Ps - We are divers who dive about one week a year, and need to rent wet suits, tanks, equipment etc.

Roatan go with the ship. It was fine. Other dive shops far away.

Cozumel I always dive with Aldora, but they may not take cruise passengers and usually only have experienced divers. Most of the divers dive nitrox and they use steel tanks.

If you have a group of six and prepay the full amount, give them enough notice, they MIGHT consider it. They are the best!!

Maybe dive with Alison. Heard good things.

Costa Maya go with Gypsea Divers. Husband and wife small shop. Email them. Cash only. Awesome diving.

Those are the three.

Bahamas only one major dive shop and the cruise line uses them. Very expensive for not much.

Coco Cay is only a one tank dive. It's ok for a one time ever dive. Snorkel there instead

Hope this helps
