Please explain RCCL/MGM partnership

Recommended Posts

I am not sure I understand the correlation between the two. Do you get free rooms using RCCL points? Or a discount? Does your RCCL status give you certain perks at MGM? If you stay at MGM, do you accrue RCCL points? Thank you for your information. Kaye

Here's what it says at the MGM site: https://www.mgmresorts.com/en/mlife-rewards-program/preferred-partners/royal-caribbean-and-celebrity-cruises.html

On the Royal Caribbean site: https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cas/homeLoggedout.do

Not much info on the Royal site. Even when logged in, it says to login or enroll for more information. So it just kept taking me in circles.

[Edit: I see Bob found a better link for Royal. [emoji6]]

When MGM first partnered, I thought if you were one level in C&A you could be on a specific level in M life.

I'm I wrong or did they drop it?

When we enrolled, they status matched our D+ to MGM Platinum. Since we rarely stay at any MGM properties, the only MGM Platinum perk we have ever use is free valet parking. We never try and use MGM casino perks on a Royal Caribbean cruise as we are Club Royale rated. If you were inclined to use MGM perks I imagine the value would be greater than it is to us.

We live in vegas and take advantage of their status matching. We dont gamble much at all but our Diamond status on RCCL gets us gold at MGM, the biggest perk is free regular and valet parking. It also includes dedicated lines for gold and above (usually) at the players club desk, check in, and the buffet. I believe you also could potentially get upgraded rooms if available. Also 15% off or so in the shops and your earn points quicker when gambling.

D+ gets you platinum status which I believe the extras are cabana rentals not available to others, check in perk, and next up valet. There are some other perks which I cant remember. We have saved a ton of money now that they charge for parking which got to be almost $50/car during hockey playoffs to park close.

Now we are more MGM loyal so I guess it's a win win for them with us.

Hopefully this helps a little bit :)

Just an FYI we were just in vegas and I thought if i had an old sea pass card that showed we were diamond that would be accepted to upgrade our m life status. They would not accept the sea pass i had to log on my account show our rcl status online.
