Well, the Escape is docking port side this week.

It's crapshoot!

Pick your cabin at your own risk!:cool::cool:

Right. Escape has been dead on 3/4 starboard side this year but this week would normally be the 3rd week starboard but they went port side.

I’m loving this review! Your alaska review last year was so helpful. I’m so glad you mentioned the arctic cat tour in ISP, we loved it!

Thanks again for taking the time to write this great review!

Thanks so much! Renting the arctic cat last summer was one of my favorite things we've ever done!! Hopefully you got to see some bears also!

Well, the company gets great reviews, so I'll stay cautiously optimistic, lol... Thank you so much for your review, I always read Escape reviews and yours is truly one of the best, especially since we're the same itinerary as you. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!

Loving the review!!! When you went out jet skiing was it cool or not that sunny out since you were there so early in the morning? I would think being there earlier there would be less crowded but it'll be my first time to Bermuda so I'm not sure. I've never been jet skiing before but I really want to try it after reading your review!

It was sunny and warm, but definitely cooler than if we went in the afternoon. It was just the two of us for the 8:15am tour, but they only take a max of 6 jet skis out at a time, so it's always a small group. The jet skis are pretty easy to operate and they're a lot of fun! :D

Saturday, June 23rd: Day at Sea

We woke up to a cloudy and slightly rainy day at sea.

We had a quick breakfast at the buffet, and decided to walk around the ship. We had to get some last photos of the gorgeous chandelier.

enhance

enhance

We stumbled upon the fruit and veggie carving demonstration in the atrium, so we stayed there and watched. It was actually pretty cool to see how they could carve the fruit and vegetables into animals!

Then, we went to the spa. It was the busiest we had seen it, probably due to the weather. There was a group of people in the hot tub and they were talking very loudly. Their voices just seemed to carry throughout the whole space. We found chairs and tried to relax. I’m pretty laid back but it was honestly a little frustrating to listen to their entire conversation so we decided to go to the main dining room for lunch.

I’m not sure why, but we never realized that we could go to the bar in Margaritaville and order drinks that were included in the UBP. Had we realized this, we would’ve been drinking these throughout the week!

enhance

We decided to head back to the spa, and brought headphones just in case. Fortunately, it was quiet as usual once we got there. We stayed in the spa for as long as we could, and then sadly said goodbye. We went back to our room and started packing - this is the worst part of any vacation.

We got a good amount done before our dinner reservation at Teppanyaki. We were seated with a large group, and they were a lot of fun.

enhance

We started with Wasabi Cocktails.

There was also a soup and salad, but I don’t have photos of them. They were fine, but the rest of the meal was just so much better.

Fried rice

Veggies (sorry, I ate half of them before I remembered to take a photo!)

enhance

Chicken Yakisoba

enhance

We also had the Asuka combo, which was filet and shrimp but I don’t have any photos of that either - I think all of the Wasabi cocktails were impairing my photo abilities!

Fruit for dessert

enhance

We had a great time at Teppanyaki. The food was delicious and they kept our Wasabi Cocktails full without us even having to ask!

After dinner, we went to the casino for a bit.

enhance

I had read about the casino smelling like smoke, but I didn’t think it was bad. It honestly smelled like every other casino I’ve been in - filtered air with a hint of cigarette smoke.

We then headed into the Escape Theater for the comedian / juggler show. We ordered a mudslide from the bar and the bartender drew a face!

The show itself was okay. The main reason that we went was because they do the farewell afterwards!

enhance

We headed back to our room to finish packing, and it was eerily foggy outside!

enhance

enhance

We put our bags outside with the light blue luggage tags, which was the latest tag at 10:15am. Our wonderful cruise was coming to an end.

Sunday, June 24th: Disembark the Escape

I just so happened to wake up around 5:15am and saw that we were almost back to NYC. I grabbed my phone to take a few photos and then went back to sleep.

enhance

enhance

We got up at 7:00am, packed up our backpack and then headed to the buffet. It was crazy busy but we found a table.

Last eggs benedict

enhance

We then went to hang out in the atrium. We had intentionally picked the latest color, which was 10:15am since we had a 12:00pm bus.

Sad faces that we have to leave the ship

enhance

From the time light blue was called to getting through customs, it probably took a half an hour total. We exited the building and crossed the street to find a taxi. We had one taxi refuse to take us because he didn’t want to do the short trip, and a couple others kept telling us to ask someone else. We decided to walk down the block and just request a Lyft. It arrived quickly and he brought us to the bus stop.

If anyone ever uses Go Buses, they don’t have a building or station. There are signs along a fence for where you board. We bought some snacks at the convenience store across the street and boarded the bus.

Last selfie of vacation

enhance

The bus ride was uneventful - there was a bit of traffic but nothing too bad. We chose Go Buses because they end in Cambridge instead of Boston, and that was more convenient for us. A quick Lyft ride from the station and we arrived home just in time feed our darling kitties dinner!

Well, that wraps up the trip report! If you couldn't tell, we had a great time on the Escape and in Bermuda. Many thanks to all of those who have been following along and commenting!

I have menus from the places that we ate at, so I can post those for anyone who is interested. I still need to scan the dailies, but I'm going to try to get that done tonight so I can get those posted tomorrow.

Please feel free to ask any questions! :D
