What is the process of moving clothing & belongings if you change cabins when staying on for back to back cruise? Will I need to pack as if I'm disembarking? Will staff help move? Hoping to have some time to sight see before sailing.

We have done it a couple of times. Pack up the evening before debarkation but DON'T put it outside your room. The following morning get out of your room, we usually try to get a shorex, and your two stewards will between them move your luggage from your old to your new room.

You will have to debark "normally" if you don't do a shorex and then wait to be allowed back on, generally before normal boarding. You won't be able to go to your new room till the normal time.

We changed cabins on Getaway last year and it was very easy. We were given luggage tags that showed our old cabin number and new cabin number and told to keep the luggage in the cabin. We did not pack the items on hangars in the closet. We had talked with the new cabin steward a few days ahead. On the morning of the change over, we found the new cabin steward and told him we were going to breakfast. When we got back, the move was complete with all the things on hangars neatly in the closet. You will get a letter telling you what to do about disembarking if you are not doing an excursion. The process differs depending on the port but if you are not doing an excursion, you should be able to return to the ship within 15 or 20 minutes, well ahead of the new passengers. You will be able to go to your room before the announcement that cabins are ready. If the fire doors are closed, just open and go through.

We’ve done b2b in Europe before and didn’t need to get off the ship at any certain time. A letter was delivered to stateroom. They had a meeting we didn’t attend but it was a question and answer and verbal explanation of what was outlined in the letter.

Letter instructed us to go to guest services and pick up our new stateroom keycards last day of first leg. They kept one running tab so no need to settle it. We were given in transit stickers to wear when getting back onboard so no need to wait in line with the rest of passengers embarking. Slick and easy process. treated turnaround day as a port day.
