deliver42 Posted July 7, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2018 If it gets bad, they will alter the itinerary. You won't have any recourse, but occasionally they will offer some OBC.
criisingisthebest Posted July 7, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2018 We were on the Disney Dream during Hurricane Matthew. They handled it so well and made sure we were safe. Our ports were changed and we got to stay additional day and half on the boat because of storm damage. But we never felt unsafe, were well informed, and the staff handled the changes seamlessly. It was also a good lessons for this major planner that sometimes you just have to go with the flow, literally! Rare BirdTravels Posted July 7, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2018 What happens if a storm happens during your cruise? Thinking of the Dawn headed to Bermuda now. Currently, Three does not pose a threat to ship. At Norwegian Cruise Line, the safety and security of their guest and crew is of the utmost importance. Therefore, the company closely monitors the path of storms and adjust itineraries as appropriate. Cruise lines rarely will cancel a cruise unless it was like last year with 3 hurricanes in the Caribbean and all ports closed. Most of the time, the itineraries will be changed to avoid the worst of the storms. Our Bermuda cruise last September ended up in Halifax (got 2 days notice to swap shorts and t-shirts for cold, wet weather gear).
