MyVegas confusion

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to figure out the vegas slots, vs the casino royale flyers, vs the earned casino royale certificates.

I've bee able to come up with the following.

You can not use any credits of any kind, if the sailing is considered a "group" booking.

You can not apply earned casino certificates, or casino flyers (cash off). if the sailing is paid in full and past final payment day. Even if you booked it 2 days ago.

I'm in the process of trying to get Royal to accept 2 ( one for me and one for my wife) $100 OBC rewards from Pop Slots. I think that they will honor them even though the final payment has been made, because they are OBC. I called casino royale and they told me I had to submit them via email. This sailing is for 01/27/19 and was booked 11/25/18. On the ship.

I'll check back when I get a definitive answer.

We cruise quite a lot and I've applied the 10% discount, a 5% discount, and several different amounts of OBC, since you have to wait so long before you can buy another of the same.  All our bookings are through our TA or booked on board and transferred to our TA.

When I emailed to add the code the first time, they told me my TA would have to approve the change, so since then I have copied him with the email and he immediately replies that they have his permission.  No issues at all.  I hope I can start buying OBC or purhaps a cruise soon or I need to find something else to spend my points on as I have 10.9 million at the moment.

Can you post here when you figure out whether this works or not? I have enough points to redeem for an OBC certificate but my reservation is with the same ketchup store.

Woo Hoo!!! they gave my mom the $100 OBC. I just got off the phone with casino royale since i didn't hear from them.  he said they are backed up a bit.  I did call the "ketchup store" yesterday to ask if the booking was a "group booking" and the gentleman said it wasnt.

I'm still waiting for a reply.  I sent it Sunday morning and got a auto reply right away.  I never had to wait more than 24hrs for a confirmation and obc applied to my cruise planner....

Do you get an email confirmation or did you just see it on your cruise planner?  Where do I find out if I have obc on my cruise planner?

Does anyone know if you are allowed to redeem an OBC reward and a percent-off reward on the same booking, or do they only allow one myvegas reward per booking?

you can only redeem one per person per booking.  I was going to redeem 10% and my husband was going to redeem for $100 OBC but end up with 2 $100obc bc I booked in Canadian $ so i can't redeem for 10% off

you would get an auto reply when you submit the request.  Then when it's been processed you would get another email and can see the obc in your cruise planner.  I called 4 days after the auto msg and the agent did everything over the phone. I saw it in my cruise planner when I got off the phone with him.

It sounds like it's worth a try on my ketchup store cruise. I just booked last week so I think it's not too late.

I hate to sound stupid, but...

Can someone walk me slowly through the steps to do this? I've never actually redeemed anything from MyVegas before. In fact, I stopped playing about a year ago because I came to the conclusion that I'd never use the rewards. But now I've got this cruise in January and a trip to Vegas (I never planned to go there!) in March, so I should learn how. I have like 450K LP.

So...I go to the rewards tab and select the reward for the OBC...then what happens?

Do I have to interact with Casino Royale? Will it matter that I probably have no "status" with them? Last cruise was 2 years ago and I probably spent $100 in the slots. (I only play pretend slot machines now)

Or do I just contact the ketchup store?

Anyone willing to take pity on me and explain this to me very simply, I will greatly appreciate.

We've prepaid tips and a shore excursion but I'm sure we'll find a use for $100 OBC.

Oh...and I assume that the Konami slots account and the MyVegas account are the same thing (the LP balance is identical) and I can only redeem from one of them, right?

Once you redeem, you receive an email with all the details of what to do next.  I just email them back and give them my name, C&A number and booking number and ask them to apply the coupon.  They usually get back to you within a couple of days.

Yes, same points for MyVegas and Konami, so you can only redeem the points once.

UPDATE: I booked last night for August 2019 over the phone with Costco Travel (I believe that to be the aforereferenced "Ketchup Store"). The rep was extremely helpful. In the end, he had to connect with the Club Royale booking department at RCL, and I was billed the full amount of the cruise. Also, even though I'm in Canada, the trip needed to be booked in USD.

I've redeemed the MyVegas loyalty points for the 10% discount, and I've followed the redemption instructions (had to send a bunch of info to Club Royale). I should hear back from them in 48 hours to confirm the discount, but I'm not really concerned it'll all go through properly.

I have redeemed the $100 OBC and have the email back confirming it has been added. Can anyone help me find this on my cruise planner. Struggling to see where it might be.

Many thanks

If it shows in your cruise planner, it would be at the the top when you're shopping. It would simply show as the on board credit you have available. I believe the MyVegas credits show up in advance, but am not 100% sure. I'll be able to tell you in a few days as I have just redeemed another one.

Can confirm.

I got a message in my cruise planner, and then after that when I sign in it shows as $100 credit available.

Many thanks for that. Have checked my cruise planner and it is not showing. No messages either. I am using the UK site and think there may be a few issues with it at the moment as will not give me the login screen. Will have another look after Christmas.

Have a great Christmas and New Year

I’ve just found MyVEGAS and I am hoping to add to our benefits with MGM and RCL. I have just begun and am learning and need to learn more. Maybe we could have a group here like the cruise buddies start?! Or an ongoing thread under gambling - but there may be one there already 😊

To be honest, this was the first reward I found it practical to make use of. I started playing a couple years ago when we were planning a trip to Las Vegas, and I wasn't able to make use of any of the offers available. Many of the discount offers (e.g. for show tickets or restaurants or whatever in Vegas) seem to be available through other outlets as well.

I hope you find ways to take advantage of the other rewards!

The 2 for 1 show's seem to be a ripoff. If you just look at the ticket office for most of the shows, the tickets are cheaper than they are if you go through the MyVegas discount. They actually jack the prices up before applying the 2 for 1. The free tickets are a great deal though. I've seen Ka and Love 3x each for free and gotten a couple of free buffets as well. Also used a free 2 night stay at Vdara. Someday I hope to get a free cruise but haven't been lucky enough to see one available yet.

If you are careful which rewards you use, there are savings to be made. We have recently returned from Vegas and saved about $600 using the MyVegas rewards. We found the free ones or the ones worth a certain value were the best. As the above poster says, the BOGOF vouchers are normally inflated.

Make sure you play as many of the games as you can to maximize the winnings.

Good luck

MLife and RCL also offer status matching.  I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. There are plenty of groups also on the other website we can't mention.
