Does the minibar come stocked with little bottles of alcohol? My father-in-law is a recovering alcoholic and I would prefer not to have the temptation in the room. If it does come stocked would it be appropriate for me to ask the steward to empty it?

Yes, it is stocked, but a request to his steward should easily resolve the problem.

You can also call ship services before hand and request that the mini-fridge be emptied. I do this all the time, for both the stated reason and because we prefer to use the space to cool our own stuff.

I agree -- call Ship Services --1-800-541-1576 -- give them your parents cabin number -- confirmation number -- and ask for them to remove everything from the mini refrigerator.

And I also request that as well as the minibar be emptied, that the bathrobes be removed. They take up so much space in the closet.

I also request that they remove the bottle or bottles of water that are on top of the mini bar as well. I ask for anything in the room that costs money if consumed to be removed.
