Bingo for Upgrades

I know on Celebrity they are now using Move Up bidding and think they are doing the same type of thing on Royal. Today a friend on Adventure of the Seas won at bingo — six nights in the Owners Suite — I guess no one bid enough or last minute cancellation.

 

Two years ago on a Celebrity TA they played bingo for an RS. Sadly, we didn’t win.

 

Guess the upgrade fairy is a thing of the past.

I think you may be jumping to a conclusion here. Just because they offer the move-up bidding doesn't mean that they might not still provide upgrades randomly if no one bids.

Years ago on Azamara, friends went along to the bingo session where a Penthouse was the prize. He calculated that the amount of money taken for the session was easily greater than we had paid for our Penthouse and we noted that the winners were not given the same perks as we were.

 

Giving away a top suite as a bingo prize is not necessarily a bad option for the ship.
