fastnloose Posted August 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Hi, Does anyone know how long it takes to tender off all the passengers in a port? We arre on Celebrity Silhoouette, I want to book an excursion and wonder if 1.5 hours would be sufficient time to allow to be sure we would get off in time. Any help much appreciated. CruiserBruce Posted August 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2018 It is going to depend on the Port. Some ports it is a long tender ride, others short. Some ports use larger shore based tenders, thus hauling more people. Other ports the ship's tenders are used. Did you ask on the Celebrity board what Celebrity's policies and procedures are? For example, do suites or high level frequent cruisers get priority? The Celebrity board is the better place for your research. At least 60 minutes after scheduled arrival is a good idea. Not two "myths" that float around. First, All ship's excursions get off first. This is not true, excursions aren't all scheduled at the same time. Second, everyone gets off the ship. Also not true. cb at sea Posted August 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2018 That's right....the 1st tender will have early ship's excursion partakers...and those who get in line early. The next tender might have a line, but after that, it's not quite as long of a wait. And not everyone is wanting to leave right away. Some, like us, prefer to have a nice leisurely breakfast before heading off for the day. Most tenders hold in excess of 150-200 at a time. If you book something 1.5 hours after the tenders start, you'll be fine.
