ONCRUISEMODE Posted October 22, 2018 #126 Share Posted October 22, 2018 On 8/20/2018 at 11:50 AM, Host Grandma Cruising said: It was suggested that it might be a good idea to have a ‘sticky’ thread which had tips for cruisers new to Azamara, so here goes. White Night - Azamara Cruises normally include a ‘White Night’. This is an on-deck party, with a buffet served from the Patio area. Most people wear white clothing (though this is not required). Speciality Restaurants- good idea to make your bookings as soon as you board. There is sometimes a bookings table in the terminal building and always one inside the entrance to Windows buffet. Dining Packages - the speciality restaurants are $30pp, but you can buy dining packages at a ‘bargain’ price - for example 3 meals for $70pp. Cocktails - the list of included cocktails is only intended as an example of the available cocktails, you can ask for any cocktail to be made with the included spirits. Breakfast drinks - you can ask for a Bloody Mary and/or a Mimosa (Buck’s Fizz) for breakfast and you can have a smoothie made to your own tastes. If you like ginger ask for an ‘Energiser’ at breakfast - it’s a small smoothie which has ginger in it and is (unsurprisingly) very energising! Stateroom fridge - the sodas in the fridge are included, the alcoholic drinks are not. You can ask your stateroom attendant to get you the sodas you like to keep in your fridge. Bringing alcohol on board - you can bring alcohol on board to drink in your stateroom. If you want to drink it in a public room there is a $10 corkage charge. Please add your own tips, so we can get a really good information thread for all those going on their first Azamara cruise. Which is correct? Anyone know? Also any idea what the Amazing Nights are? We are on a cruise from Hong Kong to Sinapore. Thanks Your travel agent is wrong. Azamara has reciprocal arrangements with Celebrity and with Royal Caribbean. If you are elite on Celebrity you will be Discoverer on Azamara. You (or your travel agent) should let Azamara know your Celebrity Captains Club number which will become your Le Club Voyage number. You can find information about the reciprocal arrangements on Azamara’s website. Look for the ‘Le Club Voyage’ link in the menu at the very bottom of the page, then click on ‘Member Benefits’ and scroll down to the bottom. Here’s the link to the page. https://www.azamaraclubcruises.co.uk/le-club-voyage/le-club-voyage-programme/member-benefits Azamazing nights are free excursions. There is one on every cruise of a week or more, except for transatlantic cruises. They are often some type of performance held in an exceptional setting - for example a 3 tenors concert in a beautiful old theatre. Although they are free, Azamara ask passengers to sign up for them so they know the numbers.

desert traveler Posted October 30, 2018 #139 Share Posted October 30, 2018 So would like a clarification on the different beverage packages--premium vs ultimate....With premium package no wines are listed-so assume that would be the usual complimentary wines offered. With the ultimate you have more options on wine? We have a package that includes the premium package-but are wine drinkers so we would have to purchase wines above this? Yes, that’s right - that’s assuming you don’t like the included wines. We’ve always managed to find wines we like among all those included. Don’t forget if you don’t fancy any of the day’s wines, you can ask for one you liked from a previous day. There are 6 wines every day - Rose & sparkling are the same every day, then 2 different whites & 2 different reds. They sometimes have wine offers of bottles to buy - I’ve seen a notice about that on the bar on Discoveries - never read it properly though because we’re happy with the included wines.

katzy Posted November 4, 2018 #143 Share Posted November 4, 2018 Hi, On our recent Celebrity cruise stateroom toiletries did not include body wash or shower gel. Just bars of soap. Celebrity and Azamara are both part of Royal Caribbean. Does anyone know if this now also applies to Azamara? Many thanks in advance! Jack

Grandma Cruising Posted November 10, 2018 Author #146 Share Posted November 10, 2018 There’s been a thread recently relating to luggage tags. 150edmiston suggested adding a note to this thread about it, as it is often mentioned. People often ask how to get luggage tags. If you are in the USA or Canada, you can request to have luggage tags sent to you. This option comes up on your account at the same time as your cruise documents are available. For those in other countries your cruise documents include a version of your luggage tags that you can print off and either attach to your luggage with staples, or insert into plastic luggage tag holders. If you do not have luggage tags, don’t worry. When you get to the cruise terminal you can ask to have a luggage tag attached to your luggage at the baggage drop.
cmclovestravel Posted November 10, 2018 #147 Share Posted November 10, 2018 Packing for 3 weeks in S America with varied temperatures, and wondering about evening dress on Azamara. Celebrity has gotten quite casual with respect to dressing for dinner (nice jeans and top acceptable). What will I feel most appropriate wearing (I’m a female)? Thanks! It depends where you eat. Windows buffet is more casual - jeans & top fine. Discoveries is a bit smarter. Most ladies wear trousers and nice top, skirt & top or dress. Occasional maxi dress/cocktail dress. Smart jeans and nice dressy top OK too. Specialist restaurants tend to be a little smarter. Jackets for men are not necessary, but a few choose to wear them in the speciality restaurants. hoshi Posted November 15, 2018 #149 Share Posted November 15, 2018 Excellent info on this board, thank you to everyone for posting. I saw on a video that Azamara has bikes on board that you use for their various bike excursions. Is that correct? Also wondering what the bikes are like...in the video they looked like a step-through foldup style...does anyone have any experience with their bikes and bike tours?
