schildiams Posted September 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2018 Just found out that our cruise in November is a "Poker Cruise" though it was never advertised as such. Reading in roll calls that the lounge with the live music every night will be closed for poker :( among other things. Anyone ever been on a Poker cruise? What should we know? Thanks! A bit worried.. Rare BirdTravels Posted September 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2018 You asked this same question 3 hours ago. There should be minimal impact to your cruise. But the casino will be busy at night with lots of invited gamblers. The Skyline bar or part of one of the dining rooms is likely to be closed for the tournament. Other than that, the players are just like any other passengers on the ship.
Sand and Seas Posted September 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2018 We were on the Epic a few years ago when they were hosting NCL's annual Poker tournament. It was fun to wander into the lounge and observe the games. We didn't notice any less entertainment options on board that ship. Many years ago we were on a cruise with another cruise line that was hosting a very large private group with some sort of special bingo tournaments. We walked into the main theater to see what was going on and got told quite fiercely by one of the bingo cruisers that this is a closed venue and we weren't allowed to even peek in  All in all, our opinion is that poker players were much more fun to cruise with than the large group of very special bingo competitors who took over some large venues all week long. Coastalbreezes Posted September 9, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2018 There will be "live music" in many other venues besides the Skyline. Check your Freestyle Daily. Other than a busy casino, you'll likely have no impacts from the poker players. Tracy

mtsnd1900 Posted September 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2018 I did one with Card Player Cruises on Allure of the Seas. we had the conference room all to ourselves - live cards, dealers, was a great time from a player perspective! The action was only while at sea.
