Straws

Don't worry, this is not a rant about straws - just a recommendation. I had read that paper straws can get a little gummy in boozy drinks, so I picked these up for our cruise, thought they worked out great, and wanted to pass along the info without it being lost in a thread with hundreds of comments.

This 6 pack has 3 different sizes, which worked out well for the various cup sizes used for drinks on the ship. They bend easily which worked out well for putting them in pockets, smaller evening purses or beach bags. Although they won't stir as well as a stainless steel straw, they worked well.

We purchased a pack of 150 plastic straws from Dollar Tree for $1. I mainly drink beer and wife is a wine drinker so the only time we would need a straw would be for an occasional BBC or other type of frozen drink that is difficult to drink without a straw. On our last cruise on Epic in May there was no problem getting straws. To those that have traveled the last couple of months, are straws gone completely or will they still provide you one if you ask for one with your frozen drink? We are going to be on the Breakaway in November and would rather not bring our own straws if we don't have to.

Just got off the Dawn and there were no straws. The hotel director did tell us at the M & G that NCL is waiting for a supplier who can provide individually wrapped paper straws for all 15 ships. Apparently this large order is taking some time to fill:confused:

Until then....bring your own!
