pmatawan Posted September 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2018 Booked an NCL with an online travel agent. Since booking, NCL changed the itinerary resulting in a decrease of about $75. in port taxes. I asked the TA if invoice has been adjusted for the tax reduction and he replied no & was generally not helpful. Will NCL adjust the overpayment onboard or should this be adjusted before final payment?
cliffd64 Posted September 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2018 I've never used an external travel agent, but in any case when this happened before final payment it was adjusted before final payment.
WanderlustJourney Posted September 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2018 It can also be adjusted when you board, I didn’t even have an itinerary change for my cruise on the Med last year and had an extra obc I wasn’t expecting, when I asked about it at guest services, it was because they had over estimated our port charges and credited my account automatically. You can always phone NCL and ask.
2Oldpeopleinlove Posted September 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2018 We received a port tax refund as a refundable on-board credit during the latter half of Dawn's trip to Ber-Canada last week. The first customer service person told us we could get cash the last day. When we tried, however, a different rep said we couldn't have it because the total was over $50. VERY Rude about it, too. So we went to the shop and bought a $20 watch. Then we got the under-$50 refund in cash. Had we not done that, we were told we'd have to wait 3-4 weeks for a check. Nope. casofilia Posted September 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2018 We have had surprise OBC a number of times due to port/tax refunds. If you don't get it through your TA check on board.
