Cwrkr Posted September 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2018 Looking for suggestions for a day in Antigua. We live in Florida near the beach. I know that the beaches in Antigua are much more beautiful but we’re not beach people. We like sightseeing, casual eating, quaint shops and people watching. What areas would fit our bill? Thanks, Sent from my iPad using Forums

FredZiffle Posted October 2, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2018 Local bus for a dollar or so down to Nelson's Dockyard. Great place to walk around; lots of period shops; plus several good restaurants.

hvbaskey Posted November 30, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2018 (edited) As Lawrence has been mentioned - please find my Private Driver/Guide Review below: We had hired “Lawrence of Antigua” for a semi-private (shared with another couple from our roll call) / customized tour for the day (island and beach). From our email correspondence, we made a plan, etc.etc. When we arrived at port, our “private excursion” was now a general tour bus with 2 other couples from a different ship. Our “custom” plans were discarded and discouraged and we did not do all that he listed on his island tour. At our final stop (Valley Church Beach), Lawrence picked up another family of four (more income for him) to take back to the port. Although we enjoyed our day, we would not hire Lawrence again due to these occurrences. However! stating that - he was a good guide and if you don’t mind a “public” van / tour service, then the service is convenient. But! if you are seeking a *private* adventure, best check with him that no one else (i.e., strangers from another ship; stray people from the beach) is added, etc. Here is our blog review of the day:https://baskeytravels.com/antigua/ Heather Edited November 30, 2018 by hvbaskey
