After waking up at 4.30am, I did manage to get back off to sleep until around 6.30am when I realised we were pulling into port.

f48407752b05a00349c9de51cfeac49c.jpg

We’re like creatures of habit and headed to the Solarium for breakfast, this was about 7.30am, it was much quieter than yesterday and we found a clean table no problem.

I had a bagel with port sausage and ketchup, and then some fresh fruit - kiwi, pineapple and mango. All very lovely.

My husband made himself a full English breakfast. We saw our assistant waiter in the solarium, he’s a nice young man, but does talk very quietly. He’ll have to find his voice if he wants to progress from an assistant waiter I think.

We have had a wander around the port area, we managed to pick up a licence plate and magnet. Note the prices advertised do not include tax. The licence plate was $8.99 but when ringed through the till was over $10.

There were lots of taxi drivers offering different rides, to the mall, beach, 2 hour island tour. I heard prices from $10 to $25 so if you’re wanting to do something yourself I’d say it was worth haggling.

There were quite a few people sleeping rough, I guess as we were off the ship early we saw more of them?

We’re back on board now taking advantage of the quiet around the jacuzzi. I’ve just had a peach daiquiri for the first time, it was lovely!

They are now offering the 10 drink card for $79 offer, which is valid until the end of this cruise only for drinks up to a value of $13.95.

Oh and if forgot to say we have taken advantage of the laundry offer, we managed to get 16 pieces of underwear, 5 pairs of shorts, 4 tshirts and 3 pairs of socks in our bag... won’t be bad value for $20 (with our discount). We’ll see how they come back tomorrow.

The dining room is open for lunch a little longer today, looking at the menu is pretty much the same as what’s on offer at the MDR tonight so not sure where we’ll have lunch yet or what we’ll get up to this afternoon.

Until later [emoji1309]

Odd question but I have been looking for the craps minimums in the evening time everywhere and can’t seem to get a straight answer. If you happen to be in the casino and see the minimum please post.

Thank you

Yes no problem I will try and find out later for you.

Hi,

Just been into the casino and they have confirmed minimum any time of day and night for craps (on Allure) is $10.

Hope that helps!

You are awesome for doing this... thank you so much.. I will be on the Allure 10/28 in cabin 3656. If you have a chance, I got a little bit nervous tonight when someone told me we'd have a lot of traffic of passengers going in and out of the dining room... Can you confirm if that is true? And if you happen to pass 3656 any additional information you can give me would be so appreciated.

Also, upon boarding, where would you recommend we go to eat before exploring the ship?

I am going to be following you the entire 2 weeks as I'm fairly new to Royal and looking forward to your review... Thanks so much for those pictures too ... WOW to some of those cabins...

Hi,

I’ve been and found your cabin, I don’t personally think you will experience any noise from the dining room at all.

You have the lobby for lifts, then quite a long corridor which is angled towards your cabin.

I’d say you will be fine.

Here’s some photos to show you...

Your room is on the right..

This shows you the angle of the corridor, it goes around the corner too....

And the entrance to the restaurant -

I don’t think you have to worry!

Don’t worry, next weeks group haven’t planned or been as active as this week’s... you probably aren’t missing much.

We have been on Oasis before, loved it.. we love Indy having the promenade but this is great as it has that plus the beautiful Central Park and boardwalk.

We didn’t feel Oasis move at all, however, I have to say that this ship is REALLY rocking... last night in particular was very bad and it’s doing it right now too.

Lots of people on the Facebook page have said they won’t travel Allure again because of it. Luckily we have next week to compare where it’s meant to be smoother, and of course we had no problems on Oasis.

Fingers crossed for a smoother sailing next week!

We will be on with you next week. Last year, we felt close to zero movement on Allure, so I’m surprised you are having so much this week. I’m a little concerned about a storm off Central America next week. Hopefully we have a (literally and figuratively) smooth sailing!

Was wondering if there is a diamond overflow lounge at blazes on deck 4? This would be between the hours of 5 to 830pm. Thanks

Yes that’s correct, on this sailing there are a lot of diamond members so they are overflowing to Blaze.

That’s good to hear... it’s been said it’s because we’re sailing the Eastern Caribbean. We’re headed to Labadee at the moment and it seems to be a little smoother now.

Enjoy the cruise!

Sorry to hear Snuba was not enjoyable for either of you. We are signed up in Nassau on 10/22 for our first time. We snorkeled a few times in the past. I’m really hoping we like it for the added expense.

Thanks for the trip report. I’m living thru your adventures until we set sail in 18 days!

I'm not sure about your port, but you may want to consider a "Discover Scuba" excursion at some point. It's designed for those without experience and you won't be tied up with 3 others on the same device :)

Here are the day 5 compasses...

So we spent some time in the Solarium when we got back on the ship, it was nice and quiet although they were varnishing some of the wood work around where we were sitting so in the end the smell got a bit much!

We went into the Solarium for lunch, they had a nice selection, roast beef, beef stew, mash, but we had taco shells and chicken fajita mix with sour cream, salsa, guacamole and some fried rice. It was really tasty.

In the Solarium you can get orange juice (which doesn’t taste too watered down), lemonade (not fizzy), unsweetened tea and water as well as hot drinks.

We came back to the cabin and sat on the balcony for sail away.. it was 1.30pm all aboard and we sailed at about 1.50pm.

It rained yesterday afternoon which meant there wasn’t much going on in the afternoon on deck... we ran some errands for people on here flirting between the casino and deck 3, we also managed to fit in a drink from cafe promenade (I had a hot chocolate and it was really good!), plus a white chocolate and cranberry cookie which again was oh so good!

We also had a slice of pizza from sorrentos, a drink in the pub, a hot dog from the board walk (I preferred just the roll with the ketchup so my hubby had 2 sausages), and a drink from the bar on the boardwalk.... quite an afternoon!

The day 5 menu was probably my least favourite, for starters it was duck terrine, seafood vo-au-vont, egg plant tarte or baked potato soup. I ended up getting her French Onion soup again whilst my hubby had the terrine.. it didn’t come with any crackers so he used a bread roll to eat it with.

For mains they had Moroccan tuna, jerk chicken, pork chop, beef stroganoff and lasagne.

Hubby had the tuna which he said was ok but he didn’t particularly like the spices on it and also it came with a mound of couscous.. probably the amount we would serve for 2 maybe even 3 people at home. I had the jerk chicken, which was a breast and then a thigh and leg, it came with fried plantain and a dumpling (I didn’t really like those) and rice and beans.

Desserts were chocolate soufflé, English trifle (with liquor) and coconut layer cake. My hubby had the soufflé but I didn’t fancy any of those so had the chocolate cake from the anytime menu and some vanilla ice cream.

I wasn’t all too keen on the chocolate cake, but the ice cream was really very good.

We felt a little awkward tonight in the dining room as there was something wrong with our waitress. When we came in she looked like she was limping and when she came over to our table we asked how she was, my husband made the remark about her it seeming herself, she said she was ok, but then when she came to start talking about the menu she had to excuse herself. She went off for a good few minutes before returning and saying something about having a headache, but she had tears in her eyes.

It was really quite awkward as we didn’t feel comfortable being served knowing she was poorly, but also suspected it may have been more than a headache she had. We noticed the three tables opposite she didn’t speak to them individually about the menus or to take their orders she did them all at the same time.... I really hope she’s ok.. I’ll report back later.

So that was our night, as I’ve mentioned in other posts, the ship has really been moving lots, however we have woken up this morning an it seems a little smoother.

We’re headed for Labadee today, eta 10am. This will be the third time we have been to Labadee, the first time we did the dragons zip line, and the second time we were last Boxing Day (26th Dec) where we just relaxed on the beach. We have been put off by the beggars near the fences of the buffet before, so not sure if we’ll come back onto the ship early or not.. we’ll see.

Oh thanks for that!

With the exception of today in Labadee we have all our excursions booked this cruise (2 x Catamaran trips, one all inclusive beach day booked via the ship and then Mr Sanchos in Cozumel), however, I will consider this for further cruises.

We’re doing the Harmony next September so I’ll see then.

Thanks for the advice.

They do these courses in South Florida as well. Not sure your travel arrangements and if you have extra days back here.

I'm sure we will unknowingly cross paths next week on Allure :)

Unfortunately when we head off Allure we have a 7.15pm flight home from Orlando airport so we’ll be picking our hire car up and heading straight for Orlando area!

Enjoy your trip!
