LB_NJ Posted October 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2018 Looking for an inexpensive clean beach to sit at and enjoy the sun and ocean. Don't really need alcohol or a buffet. Clean bathrooms and maybe the option to buy a drink. Taxi availability from the beach back to the port is required. Any suggestions for a January cruise. Most of the postings seem to be for beach clubs with water parks or buffets or all the alcohol you can drink.
JohninDC Posted October 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2018 Money Bar offers all you want - inexpensive cab (about $12 each way, fare covers up to 4 in the taxi), no admission fee, good facilities, lockers, lots of tables, chairs and loungers and good food, drinks & service. No real beach - you enter the water via steps and there's good snorkeling from the shore - but there are sandy areas for sunning and relaxing. No pool. Paradise beach is another option. $17 cab fare each way and $3 admission, but it does offer great facilities, nice beach and HUGE pool, plus good food, drinks and service. Have a great cruise! lifes-a-beach Posted October 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2018 It’s really hard to tell what someone thinks is inexpensive. We don’t drink alcohol and AIs cost too much just for the food. We pretty much go to Paradise Beach every time. Reasonable food prices, $3 to enter, very nice and clean facilities, awesome pool and excellent service. Family environment without all the drunks. We usually budget $100 and spend somewhere less than that, including round trip cab fare. When we are in the cab line we always ask other folks in line if another couple is going there and we can split the cab fare. Lots of times that works out but not usually on the return since when we’re ready to go that’s it. Been going there since way before the expansion and pool. Give it a try. Just keep in mind that all beaches in Mexico are “free” but if you expect to use facilities- restrooms, tables, chairs, loungers, pools etc you are expected to pay a facility charge and/or more generAlly purchase an appropriate amount of food or drink. Paradise does charge $3pp facility fee but suggests a $10pp minimum purchase in addition. Sanchos has a PAYG side and another suggestion would be Palancar. There are several other beach bars that are not AI and only have consumption charge but dont usually have long sandy beach ( they are on ironshore like Money Bar). It depends what is important to you.

LB_NJ Posted October 17, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted October 17, 2018 It seems like Paradise Beach is what we are looking for. Thank you all for the assistance. This may be a silly question, however, assuming we take a taxi from the dock to Paradise Beach do they typically have taxis waiting for people to go back, will they call you a taxi? Never been so not sure how it works
JohninDC Posted October 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2018 (edited) There are usually cabs waiting - if not the staff will call for one. Never had to wait more than 3 minutes. Cabs on Cozumel are great compared to the crooks in Philly! Edited October 18, 2018 by JohninDC
