liberated Posted October 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2018 Sailing on Princes around New Zealand. On board costa are in Australian dollars and we use a Canadian credit card. Does Prices add an additional conversion fee in addition to the banks when converting from Australian to Canadian?
Mulgagirl Posted October 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2018 I don't believe they charge an additional conversion fee, plus the conversion rate is quite competitive too.
GUT2407 Posted October 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2018 Just let your bank do the conversion. Princess do say they add 1.1% (I think for paying with credit card) but we have never been charged it.
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted October 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2018 Like most cruise lines, Princess uses dynamic currency conversion when converting from the onboard currency to another. Typically the exchange rate will be around 3 cents worse off than the actual exchange rate at the time. It's usually best to let your credit card company do the conversion. We were charged the 1.1% fee for using a credit card on our last Princess cruise, in March.
