Southbound on Golden Princess from Whittier

We are looking at doing or first cruise and have our eye set on heading south from Anchorage on the Golden Princess, leaving on July 6th. The price and dates work for us better then the other options we've looked at.

How does the ship compare to some of the other options? I've read reviews about leaks/wet spots, is that a Golden issue, or a cruise ship issue. It is a couple hundred dollars pp cheaper, is that because of the condition of the ship?

Anything we should know before we book?

The Golden went through a dry dock and experienced some leaking/wet areas after. I heard from somewhere that some of the workers brought on to the ship drilled in some wrong areas or too far. No clue if this is accurate.

While all ships can have this at times, the Golden does seem to have more than the average. My sister did sail the ship this summer and barely noticed it. If you are closer to it, you probably notice it more.
