POM Budget car shuttle to 2nd street location

The Budget location is relatively small and very busy on turnaround days. The shuttle ride to that location is very short. If you don’t mind the crowds there should be no problem. I personally recommend renting a vehicle from the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center which is located directly across from Miami International Airport. If you rent from either Alamo, National, Enterprise, Dollar and Thifty they provide free shuttle service from the Port Of Miami to the Rental Car Center. The Rental Car Center is a large facility that has plenty of rental vehicles available twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Going there you also have a better chance of getting a free upgrade. Have done that scenario numerous times over the years and never waited long or had any problems getting a vehicle.

We used the POM shuttle to Budget last month. The port had 5 big ships in that day so heavy demand for the shuttle. We had to wait an hour before one came that wasn't already full and zipped right by us. We were on MSC and at the end of the pickup line. Many of the people waiting with us gave up and took a taxi or Uber. The phone number on the reservation receipt only went  to a recorded message so that was no help. The upside of the long wait at the port was that when we arrived at the rental office the crowd had cleared and we didn't have a long wait to get our car. The reason we didn't rent from one of the companies listed above is that we had a one-way rental and there is no local return office without driving 40 miles to the nearest airport. With Budget the return office is 5 blocks from our house so worth the wait. Be sure to check where you have to return the car before deciding.
