vivili Posted November 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2018 Hi all, wondering what the must see sights are in Valletta are for a 1 day stop. We'll be travelling with 2 toddlers therefore everything takes twice as long...so any tips on getting around and advice would be great. Thanks! Sauer-kraut Posted November 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2018 I would wander around the city. Sit at a sidewalk cafe, there is a nice one just outside the Co-cathedral. Let them run around the main square and chase pigeons. There MIGHT be a parade or something going on there as well. Stroll through the Barakka Garden and walk by the fort. Just have a relaxing day.
hallasm Posted November 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2018 Valletta is walkable and very close to the cruise pier. There is an elevator from the ‘pier level’ to the City 2

PelicanLvr Posted February 13, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2019 The fort (mentioned above) at the entrance to the harbor has a really interesting museum on the sieges of Malta. Nice walk thru town to the fort and nice views also. Malta (think of its location) has had a pretty tough time ..... most recently in WW II. Beautiful and quiet now, but its had some history! GastroGnome Posted March 7, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2019 If you want something really child friendly what about Popeye village? Taxis are very easy - book at the booking point as you leave the terminal (and pay there too). Then when you want to go home do the same in the village. I'm not sure two toddlers would be overly taken with St Johns. It is fabulous - just perhaps a touch more adult?
