Brisbane port has vision of the seas home ported for the season,November 2020 to April 2021.

Is this a dummy booking for Allure of the seas????

Alure goes to dry dock in Europe April 2020 and all cruises have been canceled after that.

Possibly, I suppose the new cruise terminal may be close to being finished.

It seems vision is booked in Miami a few weeks before it is supposed to be in Brisbane November 2020

AND nobody knows where Allure is going after a major refit in Spain March 2020.

no bookings are available after the dry dock.???

Is this a dummy booking for Allure

Vision is supposedly in Fort Lauderdale on the 3rd Nov 2020 and then in Brisbane on the 16th November.

That's going to be a neat trick.

But whatever happens I just can't see RCI homeporting a 5,400 passenger ship out of Brisbane. They would want Sydney first.

Allure of the Seas 2020-2021  Caribbean and  Europe,  Vision of the Seas 2020-2021 Europe and  North East, Canada and Bermuda.... my bet is on Serenade of the Seas for down here..... Maybe we will get the big guns 2021 😉🤩🤩

RC is selling cruises for the east coast of the US on the vision ,it definitely looks like a dummy booking in Brisbane. They had a dummy booking with the explorer in Melbourne which is now a second celebrity ship, the eclipse. The explorer is going back to the Atlantic.

It’s a total mystery what is happening with the Allure of the seas after her refit in March 2020. Nobody knows what is going to be done to it .May be she is going to be Asianised.

At the launch of the symphony of the seas RC boss said Asia-Pacific should have a oasis class for 2020.

Brisbane would be suitable for a oasis class,it has the facilities.oasis class is a warm weather ship ,we suited to for the islands and Noumea is upgrading its port.

Courtesy of a posting by saab4444 December 13 in the Deployment 2020-2021 thread..... bookings are now open for Allure 2020/2021 with my U.S booker..

Perhaps RCL are erring on the side of caution and not sending a big gun to Brisbane until they know for sure the new port WILL in fact be ready on time........ not that easy trying to find a last minute parking spot for a B-double when the only ones available are more suited to mini's.  :classic_ninja:🤣

This is the official info for Europe 2020 phase II:

Royal Amplified will reach the far corners of Europe as Allure of the Seas and Explorer of the Seas debut multimillion-dollar modernizations as they journey across Europe for the 2020 summer and fall seasons. Allure of the Seas will be the first Royal Amplified Oasis-class ship in Europe, offering seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries that depart from Barcelona. From Civitavecchia (Rome) the reimagined Explorer will offer a mix of seven- to 12-night sailings to the Greek Isles.

Vision of the Seas will join Allure in Barcelona for the summer and fall seasons on 12-night cruises across the Mediterranean, as Rhapsody of the Seas returns to Venice for the summer with shorter itineraries, alternating between Greece and Croatia and the Greek Isles.

Interesting.

we should find out for sure in a few months when RC release the next season.

I think that if a oasis does come to the pacific,RC would be targeting China and the Asian market.

Australia would be a sideline.but that being said.Australia is getting popular with Americans as a cruise destination.

At the moment Brisbane is averaging about 3 homeport cruises per week in summer. Which translates to about 5,500 passengers.

An Oasis class would double that passenger capacity in one go. I doubt that any port in Australia other than Sydney could support those passenger numbers.

Would love to see it though.:classic_cool:

Time will tell, but as you say, Asia and Australia is becoming much more popular due to the Caribbean and such becoming mundane and over populated by cruise ships for them.

Yes

Talking to some Americans last week on explorer. They said the Caribbean is very repetitive and the cruises are short.

Australia and New Zealand are classed a exotic destination.

And they are compared to the Caribbean and the over developed tourist traps, even our south Pacific islands have a undeveloped rawness to them that is appealing

MPoints to note:

Currently Brisbane has no modern cruise ships home ported for obvious reasons eg Voyager class or better. Why would RC send a 20 yr old ship our way to dock at a facility purpose built for large ships?

We travel RC each year out of Sydney as all current ships in Brisbane do not cater well for our needs eg lack of new features and just old. I bet many Qld residents would switch to home if a more modern ship was home ported here. The Carnival deployment here is,welcomed but RC need to match with a newer ship sized to offer similar or better quality.

Interested to see what transpires.
