On the UTH topic, I emailed Club Royale with a question on whether the pre-purchased chips could be used on that game. I got the following reply:

"To answer your question regarding using these free play chips on our other non-even money bets we have been advised that the promo chips cannot be used on Ultimate Texas Hold'em and our operations team did not indicate that it could not be used for three card poker or when playing odds on craps."

 

To me this reads you can't use them on UTH but they can be used on 3CP and Craps ("did not indicate it could not be used == it could be used). That said, a poster on this thread appeared like they were playing UTH with the promo chips with no issues. The T&C don't mention anything about UTH, just contra betting in roulette & craps.

 

Does anyone have experience with playing Ultimate with these promo chips?

I've had these chips on my last two cruises (Explorer, AK RT Seattle, early Sept, and Grandeur, SE&Bahamas RT Baltimore, November), both paid as free play from my points earned through the voyage.

 

On Explorer, they had this silly even money bets only rule (reminiscent of the old match play coupons.)

 

On Grandeur, they said these chips are chips as any other and can be played anywhere.

 

If I *pay* $2000 of my real money for these chips, they will be allowing me to play them as cash chips anywhere, or I will be raising proper hell.  

 

Seems to be like anything with RCI, nobody knows how it's supposed to work and there is no consistency across the fleet for how these things are administered.

I will find out on Symphony 1/5.  Pulled the trigger on 2k and UTH is the table for me.  This is a 7 night cruise with 3 sea days (AKA casino days).  Cycling through 2.2K in promotional chips will probably be done by the end of the first sea day at a $10 UTH table.

I just got off the Navigator - promo chips remain promo chips when bet is won (not replaced) - all table games can be used.  Playing 25+25 a hand I burned through all 2,200 in the first night.

I am thinking of purchasing the $2000 slot package for upcoming HOS. If I put $200 of that into a slot machine and play through the $200 but during that it goes up to lets say, $400. That does that turn into real $$ and I can cash that out? So essentially I put in $100 and keep turning it into cash?

On the slots, once you have played through the "Promotional" amount that you downloaded, then you can cash out what is left. I.E. If you were to download $100.00 to the slot machine, and were playing $2.00/spin, you would be able to cash out every credit left after 50 spins.

Yes - Slot credits work like this:  You transfer $200 from your card to the machine... You spin for 5 dollars, win 10.  If you hit cash out a ticket for $10 will print, and $195 will remain on the machine (You can transfer any amount from your card to the machine, but once transferred only winnings can be 'cashed out'.)

Definitely, you need to realize that whatever amount is downloaded to a machine, will be "Stuck" with that machine until it is played through.

I was wondering if that was the case.  I guess you also have to count your spins so you know when you have spent the downloaded amount?

The machine will let you cash out what you have won and leave the remaining credits that have to be played through.  Example you put $200 into machine and have played $100.  If you have $220 in credits on the machine and cash out, it will print a voucher for $120 and leave the $100 you have yet to play through
