On the aarp website, look for Rewards For Good and click on it. You probably already have some points. To earn points you take quizzes. By using 1000 points, you get a $100 card for $90.  You don't have to be a member of AARP.

On the Rewards for good page, there are several different categories of things you can buy. Select gift cards, then travel. You should see the Carnival cards there.

Have never used these! Are they e-cards? Can i purchase today then turn around this evening and use it towards my cruise payment?

They used to have ecards. It was great. I used to be able to purchase them from the ship and immediately apply them to my account. about the last six months they've been physical cards. shipped via ups for a 59 cent charge. If the cards total $500 or more they will require a signature.

When applying them to your cruise fare, what happens to the extra.  For example say i owe $450 but use a $500 gift card does $50 stay on the card or do you end up with a 50 credit?

The $50 stays on your card and you can use it for something else. I use it to prepay for cheers and internet. Apply it to my account onboard. Now if you apply it to your onboard account, they will send you a new card with the remainder. I got off of the ship on sunday and my new card came via fed ex on tuesday.

If you want you can buy $50 worth of Carnival Cruise Cash from the Carnival site... it will appear on your account when you board the ship and you can use it for whatever you spend $$ onboard. If you have leftovers you can cash out in the casino.

If you use Citi credit cards you can go to the Citi Easy Deals site and sign in with your Citi account credentials.  They have ecard gift cards for 10% off.

When trying to login in it just keeps dropping me right back too the login page.

This is the link I use:

https://online.citi.com/US/JSO/signon/DisplayUsernameSignon.do?LoginMode=DRLogin&LPDomain=CITI&LPPage=marketplace&SignY

and then sign in with the same credentials you use to login to your Citi account.  Hope it works for you.

Does the same thing to me, and I have the Double Cash Card.

I just tried this and it worked.  Go to the Citi website and login as you would to check your account or pay your bill.  Then look for the Rewards & Benefits at the top, hover your mouse over the Rewards & Benefits, a drop-down menu appears and then select Offers for You.  The first thing that popped up was the Carnival gift card, but that could be the fact I purchased one recently.  It did show the Citi Easy Deals on the left.  Hopefully this work around works, since you will already be logged in to your account.  If not I would call Citi and ask them about it.

Good Luck!!!

Thank you so much for the info. I just got off the phone with Citi, and they said my Double Cash Card did not make me eligible for the Easy Deals. I would need to have a Citi Diamond Preferred Card, an AT&T Universal Card or a Simplicity Card. They said since I was already earning 2% on the Double Cash Card, I wasn't eligible for the Easy Deals thru that card.

By chance, do you have 1 of these other 3 cards they mentioned?

Thanks again!

Sorry, I assumed it was my Double Cash card giving me this benefit.  I do have a Simplicity card as well, but very rarely use it.  Sorry for any confusion on my part.

For this upcoming cruise in May for our daughters 21st.

Cost me$ 4400 for 2 cabins, One aft Wrap and an inside across the hall for the 4 of us.

Saved $440 with AARP

Saved $300 with the recent AMEX Using my card and each of the kids cards.

$100.00 OBC when booked

and another $100 OBC for Owning Stock.

Nice to have it all paid for before Christmas..and a good savings.

Working on May 2020 savings and payments now with discounts.

I just got 2 $100 gift cards for free!

I fly on Southwest for work and I don't have their credit card because work makes me use my corporate card for travel. So I've been accruing these travel miles for a while. I had about 30K in points.

Someone told me about the 'More Rewards' site and I was able to go in there and buy 2 Carnival gift cards for 10,000 points each. I'll never get enough points for airfare, and probably wouldn't use them anyway, so basically I got the cards for free, and used up what were otherwise useless points to me! I'm a happy lady!

So if any of you have unused Southwest flier points, here's the link!  https://www.southwest.com/rapidrewards/redeem-more-rewards  You'll need to sign in with your Rapid Rewards account and then click on the Gift Cards section. You should see the Carnival cards there.
