Irini38 Posted December 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2018 We are on a back to back cruise with Cunard next week, in and out of Southampton. Anyone know what the protocol is for immigration, ie is it done on board. Also as we will have to change cabin, do we hang onto our cases rather than put them out the night before. Thanks in advance for any advice or information.
paul929207 Posted December 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2018 We did a b2b2b in June and July with Dover as the turnaround port. We did not have to go thru immigration. You do NOT put out any bags the last night of the first leg. They will be moved from the old to the new cabin. You should get instructions near the end of the first leg. Krazy Kruizers Posted December 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2018 Welcome to Cruise Critic. Are you from the UK? If so, you may have to go through immigration. Your cabin steward should have a rack that you can hang your clothes on. Then just pack what is in the drawers, shoes, toiletries.
Irini38 Posted December 14, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted December 14, 2018 (edited) Yes we’re Brits. Thank you. The clothes rack would be ideal 👍🏻 Edited December 14, 2018 by Irini38
Heidi13 Posted December 15, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 15, 2018 Anytime we have changed cabins on turn around day, the Purser's Desk organised crew members to assist with moving the cases. Anything on hangers was transferred on the hangers. In our experience, UK Immigration depends on the itinerary. On our last Baltic cruise, we had no Immigration, but Trans-Atlantics and the World Cruise, they brought Immigration Officers aboard at a previous port and we were all required to have a face to face meeting. Also included UK passport holders, as I used my UK passport.
paul929207 Posted December 15, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2018 Best option is to read carefully the info the ship gives you for the procedures for turn around day
