xavier Posted December 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2018 Originally booked a mini-suite. Took the upsell to a full back of the ship suite on Baja deck Aft. We have sailed in this suite before and it's fabulous! Huge wrap a round balcony is what we live for. Some mornings soot some mornings not. First night we ate at the Crown grill because it was free. We got what we paid for. Meat was not cooked how we ordered but the sides and the wine were good! Speaking of food, at home husband and I are low/no carb eaters. On vacation carbs do not count (doh!) so therefore I think the food was quite tasty especially the curries. Went to the $25 wine tasting. We were not impressed. Pours were skimpy. That being said, when we tried to order a bottle of one of the wines we had tasted for dinner we were told they had no more. Why have you taste wines that they don't keep in stock?! Went to the $40 wine tasting dinner and loved it!! Copious amounts off food and wine and such a friendly group of people. It was help in a beautiful section on the dining room. Had dinner one night at the Ocean Terrace. Yummo! Tried to order a bottle of wine and waiter kept on coming back and saying they were out of whatever bottle we had just ordered. Finally got a bottle. Drink service was super duper fast at both the Wheel house and Crooners and around the pools. Cocktail servers were very friendly. AJ Clarke is a Princess treasure! He was performing in Crooners and also did a show in the Vista lounge. So personable and what a talent! He plays the piano and sings beautifully. Also had the ultimate balcony breakfast because it was complimentary. Man do they bring a lot of food and a half bottle of champagne. Never went to Sabitinis for breakfast as we had the huge balcony and quite frankly do not enjoy the atmosphere. Any questions I'll be happy to answer.
Guest arowe6 Posted December 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2018 1000000% agree with you about AJ and the meat issues in the Crown Grill. Oy! Andrew 🙂
Colo Cruiser Posted December 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2018 Thanks for your comments. Love the Regal. Not sure what Princess is doing with their wine offerings of lack of. It just keeps getting worse. it's not rocket science. 🙄

They appear to want to sell off old wine inventory before offering wines from the new list. Whatever their reason it’s resulted in worse experiences for current passengers until the new wine list is available fleetwide. Based on knowledgeable cruisers posts, the CG steaks quality & preparation are continuing to decline. Due to the inconsistency we’ve experienced we’re even less likely to go based on recent posts from different ships...sad. xavier Posted December 17, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted December 17, 2018 The first day of our cruise we went to vines and asked the bartenders to see the wine menu. She replied that she didn’t know where it was! We simply never went back there. In talking with fellow passengers it appears very few got there first or second choice when ordering wine. Guessing that’s a result of a poorly managed changeover to the new wine list & hopefully it’ll be better by our Spring cruises.

Was on the same cruise and went to Vines every night. We were told there was NO wine list. Never got one. Never saw one. Rare TracieABD Posted December 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Ok... I know this is completely rhetorical- but how can a wine bar have no wine menu? That is just plain weird.

It's just worse now.

Yes & never understood why other cruise lines such as RCI can offer wine packages on 7 day cruises but not on Princess.
