KateDB Posted October 1, 2019 #101 Share Posted October 1, 2019 Fingers crossed that the "technical adjustment" doesn't take too long and Valparaiso segment goes off as planned!
KateDB Posted October 9, 2019 #102 Share Posted October 9, 2019 The ship appears to have sailed this morning (October 9, 2019). It's currently just outside of Vancouver Harbor, heading south at about 15 kn. Its listed destination is Acapulco, which I'm guessing is a fuel stop. nascartony20fan1 Posted October 11, 2019 #103 Share Posted October 11, 2019 Following. We are scheduled to sail on Nov 12 on the Amundsen. Not happy about what I'm reading and the status of the ship.
grayjay Posted October 14, 2019 #104 Share Posted October 14, 2019 I have just read that Hurtigruten is obviously trying hard to reach Valparaiso in time, there was ( possibly) a fuel stop in Mexico on their way down from Vancouver and the ship is obviously rushing down the coast as fast as she can, burning up a lot of fuel at 15 knots or so... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all those who have booked the cruise out of Valparaiso!!
Splinter Posted October 21, 2019 #105 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Further complicating this is the "state of emergency" with demonstrations and riots in Santiago right now, which may close the airport and/or interfere with tourists getting transport the 90 miles to Valparaiso. Watch the news closely on this.
