Anybody have any experience with UBER?

We are staying in Secaucus the night before our cruise. We plan on taking a bus from South Station to Manhattan. Uber XL says they hold 6 people, will they hold 6 people with luggage?

Where are you staying in Secaucus?  Bus from Port Authority might be an option.

Extended Stay America. We took a bus there last year because we bussed directed to PABT, but this year, we are taking megabus, which doesn’t go there.

You could Uber in 2 cabs to Port Authority and take the bus.  Are you staying the Harmon Meadows Extended Stay?

I think 6 plus luggage would be tight, taxi or uber from NYC to NJ is pricy.

My experience with uber is that you really cant count on uber XL to hold more than 4 people WITH LUGGAGE. 

Ex. you could end up in a Ford Explorer or Expedition that seats 7, but you have to let the 3rd row fold flat to have any really useable cargo space.  That limits seating to either 4 or 5, depending on whether row 2 is bucket seats or a bench seat.  I really wish uber would update their app so that when requesting a ride you can indicate the actual number of pax, as well as luggage if applicable.  You can always call a 2nd uber if needed, just make sure at least 2 people in your party have the app.  We've had to do that several times going to/from airport/cruiseport.

I drive for Uber sometimes and you definitely want to order 2 cars. If everyone has medium suitcases then you should get 2 XL cars. 3 and 3 each car.
