3rd person sleeping arrangement?

My son, daughter-in-law and 2 yr old grandchild are booked in a sunset balcony cabin which accommodates a 3rd person.  Is it a made-up sofa or a bed which comes down?  If bed which comes down - does it have railings?

If this is on Eclipse for your 2020 Alaska cruise the SV has a convertible sofa bed.

Look for the symbol on the deck plan for that room. It would indicate what kind of additional bedding is available in that room.

A 2 year old can easily fit in the sofa even it is not a convertible one.

That's what we thought we had on the Silhouette (a pull down berth).  However, it was the sofa that was made up for my sister-in-law who was traveling with my wife and I.  It was not pulled out.  After the first night, we requested a mattress topper, which was provided...she said it was very comfortable for the duration of the cruise!
