Difficult to unsubscribe from content

I like CruiseCritic for the most part.  But unsubscribing from content is unnecessarily difficult.  Instead of a quick link that would unsubscribe in a second, you're expected to come back to this website.  I did find the link to unfollow on mobile.  But, the link in the emails "Email Preferences" looks like two links "Manage Alerts" | "Subscriptions" but in fact, it is only one link to manage Notification settings.  There is no option to unsubscribe from content from email without visiting the website.

Since one has to turn on email subscriptions on the web site I don't understand why having to turn it off in the same way is an issue. Just how would you want things to work?

How about a link that says... unsubscribe me from this thread... just the way 1000 other websites do it.

A thousand, really? I've never encountered this for user controlled settings.
