Sounion Sunset Tour from Athens

Any recommendations for a tour company?  I've looked at a couple and it's hard to tell. I'm hoping for hotel pickup in a mini-bus or van, so that we don't spend an hour picking up passengers at other hotels. Would it make more sense to hire a car?

Renting a car would be great.  You can stop at other places along the beaches or do some additional sightseeing.  You could stay until the actual sunset, which is the best time to be at Sounion.  However, consider the logistics of where to  park the car in Athens (hotel?) or to pick up and return the same day.  If you want to keep the car for a couple of days, you can use it for the easy drive to Corinth, etc.  

If not, a private excursion from a good company like George's Taxi would be great.  https://www.taxigreece.com/  We have used them many times over the years and can highly recommend.

We used Private Greece Tours and were extremely pleased with our tour to Cape Sounion.  You can check out the website at www.privategreecetours.com or contact Nicos  Loukas at nikosloukas1@gmail.com.  Our driver was was Elis and he was fantastic, giving us lots of information along the way and he was very prompt at picking us up at our hotel on the day of the tour.

we have used PK tours on a couple of occasions

 

when I first read sunset at Souion from Athens my first reaction was that's a bit risky re getting back to ship as Souion is a couple hours drive

 

however if you are doing this pre or post cruise with hotel in Athens then sounds great
