Teibban Posted January 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2019 Hi everyone, Not a first time cruiser here but first time looking at Carnival. We are looking at a cruise out of FLL on the MAGIC in 2020 and I have a few questions: 1- If for any reason, we cannot take this cruise before the end payment, can the deposit be transferred to another cruise later? 2- If there is a huge special (better than the 50$ deposit per person) happening by the final payment date, is it possible to apply it? Been able to do both on NCL in the past but wondering if it is the same for Carnival. Thank all.
teknoge3k Posted January 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2019 1. Yes. However you COULD BE charged $50/pp to make changes. Some people have had to pay the penalty. However we have had our PVP get approval to do this for us with no penalties. 2. Yes, on the bottom of Carnivals homepage is the price protection form. You can fill that out and submit it and get the lowest price.

Chances are you booked an Early Saver fare. That means that Carnival will impose a $50 penalty and hold the rest of your deposit as a future cruise credit to be used within 24 months. This cannot be used as the deposit on another cruise, but can be applied toward the cruise fare. Caveat: Some people have reported success at avoiding both of those conditions when rebooking at the same time they cancel. 2. All Carnival fares come with price protection (that includes any specials such as OBC) up until the final payment date. Only Early Saver fares have price protection beyond that (until 2 days prior to sailing). Simply call Carnival or submit the price protection form.
