Cab recommendations in SFO

We will need to take a cab from the Alcatraz pier to our hotel.  Can anyone recommend a cab company, not Uber.  Thx.

You shouldn't have any problem with any of them.  Just flag down the closest one.  I always use Uber when in the city.

SF is a flag city so you can pick up an empty cab any place you can flag one or you will find cab stands by hotels or popular tourist attractions.

In front of Pier 39 (next to the Alcatraz pier) there's a taxi ONLY line.  It's been there for 30+ years, but none of the Lyft/Uber drivers got the memo 

 

It's a $110 memo when they do get it.

You might want to download a taxi app we use, called Flywheel. It's used by most cab companies (except for Yellow which has their own). Works like Uber. You pre-register a credit card and when you need a cab, request on on the app. It will find one and you can track its progress and arrival time.  Payment is handled by the app.

We use it all the time.
