Upgrade drinks packages before or during the cruise

Sorry if I start a new topic from my previous one.

 

I have DOU package and to have frozen drinks (foo foo drinks), I have to upgrade to Premium. That's good for me...

 

If I upgraded before the cruise, MSC and others companies (Celebrity, NCL), request that both passengers have to go with it...  With MSC, I'll save the 15% tips....  Don't remember about Celebrity and NCL.

 

With NCL and Celebrity, if you do it on the ship, they accept to upgrade just one of the passengers but I have to add tips (15% or so) ....    Is it the same with MSC (?

nope regardless as to when you upgrade all those in the same cabin must take it

I thought that one could buy the non alcohol package.

it states that all of the occupants in the cabin must take the drinks package purchased so if one of you buys the package the other occupant has to as well I don't think one can have the alcholoic and one the non alcholic unles under the drink age limit

Years ago, on Costa, one in a party was able to book the package. 

 

Unfortunately, people were abusing it (sharing) and ruined it for all. 

 

I suspect this is the case with MSC, also.

Correct, there is a reason we can't have nice things.
